1973 BMW E9 3.0CS

This would be a fantastic project car for someone. I bought it just about 2 years ago and it has been in a cold, dry, storage space ever since.

The car is in good shape, some minor rust in the floor pans/rockers, and a dent in the center panel just above the license plate. It is missing the center console and dashboard, and driver’s 1/4 window. The car was optioned with 4 power windows, manual transmission and is a rare non-sunroof coupe. The cylinder head was removed before I owned the car, but I still have it, the manifolds, and the carbs.

I believe it’s one of 450 brought into the USA in '73 with a manual transmissions and one of under 1400 Manual e9 3.0’s in the USA, according to the e9 registry.

I’m selling as I’ve been liquidating my collection of random cars and parts to concentrate on the 350z and the Drift Mania championship in the coming months. I’m looking for $1900 obo, I can deliver in an insured, enclosed trailer at the BUYER’S expense.

Sure man, at your cost

umm, is that a ferrari 355 in the background?

GLWS Mike. Hope it goes to a solid new owner

It’s stored at PT’s place? Or do you have it up here in NY?

It’s up here.

Yes, that’s a 355. No, it’s not mine.

Wow- that is awesome. Wish I could justify it right now.

That looks like a straight car. Why buy an E30 when you can have something that unique for the same price?

Is the roundel on the C (B?) pillar the fuel-filler cap?

soooo sweet.

It’s absolutely gorgeous in person. I love the lines and the color. It would be an awesome summer cruiser, but my wife would definitely kill me if I bought another car.

No, that’s not the filler, but that would be cool! To be perfectly honestly, while the price of purchase is the same, you will spend atleast a few stacks to put this car together and make it a nice street car.

Can you even find parts for these cars? Would a Turbo E36 M3 engine kill the re-sale of it?

It looks really cool, but the next car I get I want to modernize a little and I’d hate to kill something worth keeping together.

People have swapped M3, M5, updated M30’s engines, and just about every other BMW engine into these. Parts are fairly easy to find, and lots of stuff is backwards compatible from e12, e28, etc

Here is one with a turbo M5 motor:
