Hi guys figured id post up the build although im not to sure which way im going to go with it yet. Well me and my father bought the truck off of GSA auction sites its a 1977 dodge D200 with 32000 original miles. The truck was an old fire company truck from somewhere in new Mexico its been sitting for a few years so it wasn’t running when we got it but did fire up with some help from a new battery and some starter fluid but wont run without it.
Heres a few pictures of the truck. im still thinking of some ideas for it so if you guys have any ideas or input feel free to share!!
Yeah i love the paint job. It was pretty funny i washed it once we got it to get all the dust and dirt off of it and it had been baking in the sun so long the soap was red. one thing i know im going to have to do with it after its running is install a radio but since it doesn’t even have any wiring for it or spots in the cab to put them its going to be an adventure lol.
[QUOTE=jay_g;3458382]Paint it black, chew on a match stick, and throw on a pair of ray-bans.
Lol well I have the ray-bans so I’m a third of the way there. I’ll most likely lift it if I do anything with the height of it. I do like the mirrors on that red truck tho.
I like the look of that, simple and not over done i don’t think id want to go crazy on a lift simply because id still like to get somewhat good gas mileage lol.
Veeeery nice find, these are great old trucks, I had(technically still have) a 75 Powerwagon 3/4ton (can’t remember if its a D200 or a W200) 360 4 bbl, 4 speed. Tough as hell, mine has way more miles than yours and survivedy teenage driving habits lol…subscribed
Ive had a few people say i should put a Cummins in it but ill most likely see how the motor in it is but if that ever goes im going to strongly consider it!!
I think this truck would be a great cantidate for a plastidip paintjob. Cover all the chrome in black and do the body olive green.
Get some more pictures!!
Damn grills are expensive!
I’d think about cutting up that grill a little and putting in some mesh or something so it doesnt look like it has a huge hole in it or seeing if you can weld some metal in to make it look right. Then paint it bedliner black or something.
Yeah Ive considered the plastidip im wondering how much it would cost to do something that big lol. the hole in the grill was cut for a light im thinking of cleaning it up a little bit and maybe finding a light to put into the bracket unless i can find a one for a good price, that one you found is crazy expensive lol.
