So everyone here knows I have a vintage bike issue (in that I buy too many)…
This one was part of a joint purchase between myself and Checko on here…this one has to go.
1979 Yamaha XS750, three-cylinder. Black in color with some extras and only 31,xxx miles on it. Needs very little work.
Things we’ve addressed:
-carbs rebuilt
-new battery
-new oil and filter
-new plugs
-refresh the brake system
Things the previous owner added:
-de-baffled pipes (sounds damn good)
-windscreen (nice for highway riding)
-aftermarket seat (nice on the tush)
-luggage rail/backrest combo (make the lady comfortable)
-aftermarket airbox setup
Things we know it needs:
-headlight bulb
-MAYBE intake boots (runs really well but they are cracked)
-front tire is showing a little dryrot but lots of tread.
Based on current market and other for-sale ads for identical make/model/year, We are asking(see below for price)for this bike. Neither of us would hesitate to register this thing and immediately be riding it…really a good bike for the money. Clean title. Very motivated to sell. Cash talks.
If someone is interested, we have part of a hardtail kit (these are shaft drive so only half the kit is required, there is another xs750 in the background we hard-tailed for reference with the other half of mentioned kit)…this could be negociated into the deal. You can PM either of us about the bike, but it is located at checko’s place in S.Buffalo and I have the title in my possession.
Also, video of cold start/running…(kickstarted because didnt have full charge on battery yet)
bump! unfortunately I’ve run out of bandwidth on photobucket so if you’re interested you’ll either have to find my CL ad or come see it in person! Come take it for a spin!
really? nobody is in the market for a pretty bulletproof turnkey bike with plenty of power for $900!?!?!? Willing to work out a deal on customizing it to your liking as well.
New possible trade: would be interested in a sportbike, something of the 90’s era, or something newer but needing work…have some cool ideas for a street fighter…
bump. trying to ditch before winter. if it doesn’t sell before winter, I’m striping off the old-guy stuff and tossing a cafe seat and set of clubman bars on it and asking $2k come spring.
