1981 Porsche 911

1981 Porsche 911 SC originally imported from Germany. The car is registered in New York and has a clean title. The car is a wonderful driver. My mechanic recently said “I would not hesitate to drive this to California and back.”

The engine is the high compression European motor originally making 204 horsepower in stock trim. Additionally, the CIS has been removed and replaced with dual Weber carbs
which provide instant throttle response and a wonderful growling noise. The fueling system has been properly modified for the carbs. Combined with the Bursch muffler and SSI heat exchangers the car sounds amazing - and coupled with the additional power and low weight of around 2500 lbs, the car really rips.

The suspension is mostly stock components with Koni shock upgrades. I have a set of 16 x 7 et 23 /16 x 8 et 10 MSWs as well as the original 16 x 6 et 36 / 16 x 7 et 23.3 Fuchs. I also have a set of spacers and Boxster twists that I might be convinced to include with the car - they truly set it off and create a flush look with an aggressive stance. The car tracks straight and true with very communicative steering, and no power assist. Road feel is incredible. Car is set at European ride height.

The body has an extremely rare European Ruf front bumper with integrated fog lights and an integrated front lip. The rear has a whale tale. The paint is ok. There are some chips in the front and on one of the doors, as expected on a 30 year old car with original paint… The rear has a rough spot under the whale tale. The interior is perfect. It has the smell of oil and leather than you only get with a classic air cooled 911.

The car has a rebuilt transmission.

It has recently been seen by a local specialist who gave it a once over in preparation of sale.
Work included:
-compression test / leak down
-valve adjustment
-carb adjustment/tune
-replaced oil return tubes with weltmeister tubes
-new fuel pump, lines and pressure regulator
-new plugs, coil and coil wire
-new valve cover gasket, nuts, washers
-oil change/filter
-new ignition switch
-new starter
-new steering column bushings

I will include all receipts and records. I will also throw in some extras. I have two shop manuals and the original literature (in German). I will also include a copy of “101 Projects for Your Porsche 911” by Wayne Dempsey. I have body-colored headlight rings. Finally, I will include a car cover.

NADA Value for this car ranges from $17,100 to $26,200.
August 2011 issue of Excellence rated values from $18,400 to $25,800.

These two cars just went on eBay, for market comparison:

Make me a reasonable offer.

VIN is WP0ZZZ91ZBS100812.
Country of origin for this vehicle was Germany. This is why it has the far more powerful, higher compression German engine and lower ride height.
The car has been legally registered in New York State with no problems whatsoever. I have the clean title and had no issues registering it.
You can run it through carfax or autocheck manually and see that it checks out.

nice 930…

Very cool.

Dip fucking Dope. GLWS

Marcus - unless its a 951, I would not trade it for a 944 … and the 951 would have to be modded

your car is VERY clean, love it!

nice car, funny how it instantly looks modern with the newer wheels.

True, it’s a timeless design…I especially love the Turbo twists…

Send it to the crusher and get a real car: Lumina z34

Car looks great! glws!

lol, GLWS hot car. Good luck here on NY-tire-kicker .com though.

Bill Lumbergh or the German guy from super troopers? Buyer makes the call.

GLWS

I would only trade for a minty fresh 1985.5 or later 944 non-turbo + cash.

Mods decrease the value of a car, btw - I wouldn’t want a modded Porsche of any kind.

just keep the car . . .or post some where when the people have money’s . . .you just haven’t had it out in a such a long time that you forgot that you cared about it.

bump

I don’t want to keep it, I want to sell it and attend the Skip Barber school so that I can get my license and get qualified as an instructor and go to DEs for free, and buy a truck and trailer race car and compete in wheel to wheel action.

that’s a lot of ands.

Edited the text.

ALSO - Photos with the MSWs

ALSO - full disclosure - car was broken into last week (outside of Lento - broad daylight, full street view - bunch of savages in this town) - will be replacing driver side window with brand new glass imported from Germany. Thief attempted to take the stereo (failed) - will be replacing the stereo. No other damage.

I want another one bad. forwarded to my dad, he’s been looking to snag another.
