I bought this car because my project RX7 wasn’t running right and frankly I wanted something fun to drive in the meantime.
What it’s got:
-1989 s13 hatch chassis - dash reads 106xxx kms but I’m 100% sure that’s not accurate. According to Used Vehicle package, I estimate more around the high 200s
-Redtop SR motor, 5spd transmission - no strange noises, runs really well. Just changed spark plugs and never seen better colored plugs come out of a car in my life.
-Front mount setup
-eFans (some may like this, others may not)
-Manual boost controller currently set at 10psi
-Boost gauge
-Rear 5 lug hubs with ebc brakes from Varun (can offer a deal on fronts, I just don’t have them yet)
-Welded diff (also have an open one)
What it needs:
-Personally I’d put power steering on it (pump’s been removed). I used to think not having it is no big deal, but finally driving this car has made me realize I’d prefer to have it
-Driver’s front rail has a hole in it (see pics) but the rest of the rails are awesome (as are rockers)
-Repairable hole in trunk
-Skirts are ziptied on and front bumper should be attached better
-Proper paint on passenger fender and sideskirt (if you’re someone who cares about that stuff)
-3rd brake light delete patch has cracked and is starting to fall off.
-The exhaust currently ends at the rear axle, since it broke there. I can have a pipe welded up, or the buyer can do what they please with it. I’m open to negotiation.
-The front oil seal should be replaced. Its slowly spitting oil on the front of the engine, which in turn I think is making the belt/alternator squeal.
-Passenger headlight is out.
-Some general TLC
To be honest, I have too many “fun” cars. I just bought this as a fun solution while my other car wasn’t working (thought the repairs might include a full rebuild so I was going to put it off until winter).
This is an SR hatch with a non-rotbag body that just needs someone who has the spare time to give it a little TLC. I’m simply too busy to provide that for it, though I do make small improvements on the car every day. Asking $3200 negotiable. However, telling me you have $2000 “cash” to come pick it up doesn’t go very far with me, as I only take cash and am not being forced to get rid of this car, thus, no hurry. I’m fairly reasonable tho, as many members on here will vouch for me.
