1989 Toyota 4x4 pickup for sale
The truck was originally purchased by a friend of mine from San Diego. I bought it form him when it was 3 years old and have owned it ever since.
It is a loaded SR-5, 4x4, extended cab, V-6, 5 speed, with all power and the optional sunroof. It also has the factory alarm too.
It has power windows, power locks, power steering, power brakes, A/C (not working right now), factory AM/FM cassette, factory clock, factory tach, factory Toyota bedliner, toneau cover, BFG All-Terrains that have about 5,000 miles on them ( I usually get around 40,000-50,000 miles on my sets of BFG's), factory aluminum rims, sliding back window.
Over the years, I've installed a Downey limited slip rear end, Warn unlocking front hubs for better gas mileage, the front truss strengthener, and the Downey Super Clutch assembly since I was always pulling my tandem axle car trailer with it.
I bought the truck with 52,000 miles on it. It now has 314,000 miles and I just bought a Tundra V-8 so I can get an enclosed car trailer for hauling my cars easier. The smaller Toyota won't pull an enclosed 24' trailer legally.
I’ve pulled my car trailer from Florida to Michigan, to New York without ever having any pulling issues.
At 186,000 miles after bringing back two cars form Florida it starting missing a little. I found one cylinder having low compression and when I pulled the cylinder head, one valve was leaking. I decided to rebuild the whole motor at that time with all new Toyota parts. The motor has been running excellent ever since.
Just passed inspection in July.
Problems with truck now:
-The A/C started getting warmer about 5 years ago and never serviced it, since I rarely ever used it anyhow. It has never been changed over to the new stuff. It is not working right now.
-The power steering is leaking a little at one of the lines from the pump. It doesn’t leak that bad so I never bothered fixing it.
-The fan switch only works on high
-The radio and cassette works, but the factory power antenna does not go up or come down all the way.
-Tears in left side driver seat cover. Passenger and back seats are excellent.
-Typical rust spots on body and some small dents. Not that bad for this many miles though. Frame still solid.
-Drivers door hinges are worn letting the door droop. I have new hinges but never installed them.
-Front outer right side CV boot torn and needs replaced. I have a new one for it.
Tons of extra parts, new and used for it, that I've collected over the years.
Some of the stuff includes:
-New front Toyota rotors, last time I put pads on, I bought all new brake stuff, but the old rotors were that same thickness as the old ones, so I didn’t change the rotors.
-New front bearing and hub seals (was going to grease front bearings when I changed rotors but did not change rotors so did not grease front bearings yet, since last time)
-New front Downey limited slip still in box. Includes new side carrier bearings, and new parts to install it. The NEW Downey Limited slip is worth $700 new by itself!
-New front brake pad shims
-Various new parts shown in pics on other website
-Extra doors since the bottoms of the doors are getting rust.
-New door hinges for drivers door
-New front sway bar bushings and parts
-Extra good computer and good key electric switch. I had a short under the dash that I though might have been the switch or computer so I bought a good computer and a new switch for it. The short was in the wiring, which I fixed. The new key switch is still installed, and the old good one is included.
-Extra good driveshaft. I bought the driveshaft, 3rd front member and a rear end as a package deal, to transfer my Downey limited slips into and then just change out the front and rears, but decided to just install the rear posi at the time and get rid of the extra front and rear ends. The driveshaft I still have.
-plastic mats for winter, for your feet up front to keep all the snow and water from ruining the carpet.
-New U-Haul class 3 tow hitch. It also has a 7 pin connecter, but I took out all the trailer boxes and wiring for my other Toyota Tundra. You will need to wire your own wiring for the connecter.
-New CV boot for outer front right side CV
The truck is EXTREMELY RELIABLE and would make an excellant work truck or winter vehicle for someone wanting a loaded, extended cab, Toyota 4x4 pickup.
This truck has NEVER been off road!
No squeaks or rattles either, considering it has 314,000+ miles!
ALL THE EXTRA PARTS, NEW AND USED, GO WITH THE TRUCK!!!
Asking $2,950
(Kelly Blue price in fair condition still gives it $2,875, without all the extra parts)
I have the clean title in my name.
