WTF are you talking about. There are about 9000 JDM motors available at any given time. Not to mention if you wanted to be a baller you can buy a factory crate motor from Nissan for it.

1000 FIRM this weekend. Car has well over that in suspension and the interior is 9/10.
for $1000 someone will scoop it up, thats more than fair!
$1000 is a fucking steal/investment for this…anybody with the money laying around would be an idiot to NOT pick this up since it can easily be sold for almost double that with a little more advertising effort in the Z community.
uh…i REALLY hope you’re not recommending anybody go JDM with this…all it would need then is a ridiculous wing…and it’d be a ticking time bomb as well.
Why not get a jdm motor for it, especially if they are availible? (I’m a nissan noob)

Ahhh.
Alot of the imported vg30dett engines have issues. Don’t know why but it seems far more than any SR20 or RB series engine that comes over. Some people have great success with them and others have issues very quick.
The big thing is to do you homework, find a reputable importer that sells good pieces. Do not buy the cheapest engine on Ebay and hope it starts up and drives great.
There are plenty examples of JDM engines running great but there are also enough examples of failures to think twice about it.

I’ve seen plenty of threads on Z boards where JDM motors can work…but most of them completely rebuilt the motor before even considering dropping it into a car.
But even if you go through a reputable company, there’s still tons of risk…mine was purchased from one of the biggest, if not THE biggest and best known Z32 specialty company out there, and my solid iron block ended up cracking clean in half without even being in boost… :gotme:
But even USDM motors aren’t all that hard to find for these cars…and despite popular belief, they’re not THAT hard to work on…just not as EASY as most other cars…it’s still all nuts and bolts, just a bit less space to work with.
