1992 Oldsmobile Achieva SCX Holland Pro Four RaceCar

Integra Type R.

Pretty sweet car though, It’s 190 n/a right?

Yup, 190 WHP n/a Stock, and wait until you see my list of goodies and internals… Projected HP should be in the 250 WHP n/a range.

Should be awesome, is it a quad 4? Displacement? I have never even heard an scx before this thread.

The Engine is a 2.3L OLDSMOBILE W41 Spec Quad 4.

The IDI Cover looks something like this VVVVVV and the Break down on the Quad 4 is as follows.

1988-1989 Quad 4 “LO” 155 WHP
1990-1994 Quad 4 “LO” 150 WHP
1991-1993 Quad 4 “W41” 190 WHP
Available in 92-93 Olds Achieva SCX and 91 Quad 442 W41
1991-1994 Quad 4 “HO” 180 WHP
1992-1994 Quad 4 “OHC” 120 WHP

Yea I know a little about these… lol

sweet!

The exhaust ports on that motor are pretty tiny. You can open them up a ton, and get some decent gains. Intakes aren’t too bad, but they can use a lil work too.

I hear you there. If the Division even comes back, they don’t allow porting, (not saying it can’t be done) LOL.

Anybody any good at that?

Winter Updates!

Got some more parts for this thing:

Found myself a set of Camshaft Blanks, now whats the best NA grind ever?

Wow. You aint screwing around are ya.

are there clutch packs behind the axle gears? between the spring blocks and the face of the gears?

im not the biggest fan of those spring blocks. they tend to tear things up.

brian

Yes there are, and no, no screwin’ around with this one, no shortcuts taken…

good deal. they work great with friction material in conjunction with the blocks.

Brian

Where are you gonna race this?

Probably going to take this out to any SOLO SCCA events I can find when its done.

good to hear man…despite what some people on here think coughKartercough you will learn a ton from auto-x that you’d never pick up on an oval.

Well being mainly dedicated to circle track (Holland) but I’ve done my fair share of road course and the like as well.

They Hold Crash A Rama twice a year for a reason, cuz you have to know how to go right, left, backwards, sideways, drift, avoid, and have fun!

Thanks tho, can’t wait to get this car back in SCCA trim.

When this car was in its prime it won 2 World Challanger Championships.

Road course racing is real racing. parking lot speeding around cones isnt. You can stop shitting up every single thread about it too.

99 civic, You dont know the first thing about oval racing, and you proved it when you said you would buy paulos automatic EF hatch, to race against street stocks which are 350 + hp monte carlos.

Jeff, your going balls out on this build, I dont know how you have so much money haha.
This motors going to be bad ass, after everything you told me about these motors.

Drop it in one of your 200 olds shells and daily this beast haha.

arghhhh…I didn’t know you ran street stocks. I thought you were in the 4 banger division and I was starting to consider a build to back up my trash talk. Don’t take it as I’m bashing you personally because I’m not. I really enjoy trash talking to create a rival to race against. Well that really sucks, because I’m definately not going to build a street stock oval racer to run you.
As for buying an EF chassis for the 4 banger class… That and a CRX would be probably the 2 best honda chassis for the hornets class. Who said anything about keeping it automatic?
I know a little bit about oval racing, and may still build a toy to have some fun with it(and prove that “parking lot” racing teaches you alot). But you openly bash auto-x and don’t understand the skill involved to put up good times. Each run is 40-60 secs of precision where something technical is happening at every second you are out there and the slightest errors equate to crappy times. Have you every “parking lot” raced? Or are you just assuming it “sucks” and isn’t real racing? I haven’t oval raced wheel to wheel and where most think it’s just a bunch of boring left hand turns, I can clearly see it’s so much more than that and probably a blast to do.

I’m just confused as to how ppl can bash something they don’t do. Honestly every type of racing I have ever done (auto-x, lapping days, rally-x, road rally, drag racing, go-kart racing) has been super fun and they all have their pros and cons. But I would never say that any of it sucks. They all have their place in the racing world and some people will prefer some disciplines over others. But to outright say one type sucks is rediculous. Typically, people who say a certain type of racing sucks say that only because they suck at it and have no intentions/patience to learn.

sorry for the OT in your build thread man. Looks like a winnar for a build and I look forward to seeing it action this season.

OK Karter, 99 Civic SI, I am starting a fund to get you both Crash A Rama cars, come out and see who’s better at turning left and dodging shit on the track!

No apologies needed! Its racing, were suppose to disagree on shit!

But yea, this build is awesome, you won’t find another N/A engine this hoped up, let alone a 4cyl.

As for Hondas, they are by far the best choice for circle track, the Independent rear and front suspension is really key, and keeping it light helps too.

I have that Hatch running now if anyone is interested? LOL

its a shame about dunnville, thats right in your back yard, this would have been an epic car for that.

They should bring pro fours back on dot tires. Either way, I wanna hear this thing run when its done.
