Just bought a Genesis and its time to sell my 240sx.
To start its an LE model which i purchased at 175xxx kms a few years back. It now has 208xxx kms. It was my daily driver and has yet to fail me. Its reliable as hell and would be a decent first car or something to work on.
With that being said, on to the good stuff…
The Good -
- Silvia front end w/brick headlights
- 17x9.75 +25 xxr 527 w/ 215/40/17 federal 595s all around(purchased in May from Samson, under 3000k on them)
- BC Racing coilovers(also purchased from Samson, same mileage as wheels)
- Interior is pretty damn mint aside from the rip on the drivers side seat and bolster.
- Pulls hard and tranny works well in cold and warm. Also has Redline MT90 in it.
- Regular oil changes
- newish NGK spark plugs which I have a spare set that are brand new i can throw in.
- Ebay air filter and MAFS adapter
- ebay cat-back exhaust(sounds pretty good and has held up well)
- Alpine Type-R speakers in the front
- Alpine CDA-9884 Deck
- Alpine MRP-500 amp
- Some Pioneer 10" sub w/ bassworx box
- Driver side frame rail was professionally boxed 2 years ago
- Rear driver side rocker panel was welded and patched a year ago
- Strut towers were taken care of a year ago as well
- Some suspension components were replaced a year ago as well(dont remember what they are)
- Rear spoiler removed and holes patched
- Did I mention its pretty damn reliable?
now the Bad-
- Needs paint
- Rust on the driver and passenger rocker where it meets the fender
- Rust on the driver and passenger side rocker seam
- Rust on the passenger side rocker at the rear wheel well
- Rust on near the door hinges
- Rust on the driver A-pillar
- Surface rust on the passenger frame rail at the front
- Exhaust hanger is broken and exhaust is held up by heavy duty wire
- Driver side front caliper is seized and is causing the car to pull to the left
- Timing chain rattle
- Driver side seatbelt retractor doesnt work(free fix at the dealership due to lifetime warranty)
- No 3rd brake light because my grandfather decided to throw it out before i could put it back on
- HIDs decided to die(the "fog lights’ are way better for visibility anyway)
- AC works but causes the car to overheat sometimes… yeah, sometimes
- Blower vents stuck when selecting the “right at your face” option and makes and obscenely loud clicking noise, so dont use it.
- Chip in windshield.
Despite all its detriments, this car has served me well for the last 3 years and has never once let me down or left me stranded and ive done quite a bit of driving with it.
Im asking $3000 with the stereo, $2500 without. The parts are worth well more than that, as well as the money that went into it but i dont have the time or will power to part it out. Has a valid etest and will only need a new caliper and a new seatbelt retractor to safety. I can recommend someone to do the safety for you, yes it is legit. Ive tried to remember as much as humanly possible and ive listed all the good and bad just so that i dont have to deal with any BS from potential buyers. Youre more than welcome to come and inspect the car. If you would like any more info or pis dont hesitate to ask. Adam(S13counterpart) has done some work on the car so if youd like a second opinion ask him.
