I just picked up a '99 10AE so the '94 has to go. Its currently a 13 second turbo beast but I can part it back down to stock condition if necessary. Here is the info:
I originally bought the car in June 2008 because I needed a vehicle asap. I as playing with a WRX on the highway on the way back from STPR and did the ol’ 5th to 2nd downshift and over-revved big time. I didn’t know how bad the damage was on the DET but it was only running on 3 cylinders. I found the Miata on Craigslist and it looked perfect. It was from California and had only seen one winter. It was cosmetically challenged and needed a bunch of TLC for little problems (radiator leaked, horn didn’t work, heater core leaking, drivers side fender and door dented from low speed impact, bad wheel bearing, etc). So I ended up buying it the day after I looked at it and talked the guy down to $1500 because of those issues and it had a rebuilt title from an accident a few years before.
I replaced the drivers side door and fender with used oem pieces and then proceeded to fix all the little issues the car had and I was into it for about $2500 at that point. The more I drove it the more I liked it and I decided to do a few mods which just snowballed from there. Its a ‘C’ package car so it has power windows, power steering, cruise control, air conditioning (works!), and the sought after Torsen differential. It had an ugly tan interior which I’ve been converting to black. I ended up deciding I wanted to make it my fun car instead of the SE-R (which was fine by the way after I found just 2 popped off
rockers, got really lucky on the over-rev). I ended up parting all the mods off the B13 and selling the shell to a local who balled his up.
So anyway here is the mod list on the Miata and what I’m into it for:
- Miata: $1500

I’m sure there are more mods that I can’t think of off the top of my head. Its running 9psi off the wastegate and when I took it to the track I ran a 13.2 @102 and it made 220whp on a Mustang dyno. The stock bottom ends are good for 15psi so its capable of 280whp in its current form. If you want it to be a looker its going to need some dings filled and a new paint job. I’m always more concerned with making it faster and handle better before any cosmetic
work lol. I figure I have around $13500 into everything and I’d like to get $6250 for it with the deletion of the parts I mentioned above.
