I joined a while back, but I have just lurked since then. My name is Tim. I’m 26 and an engineer. :burnout:

I’m not really the type to hit the track or the shows (other than to spectate), but I thoroughly enjoy talking about and working on all types of cars. I currently own a few different autos. The plates are from out-of-state for emissions and registration purposes.

My next car is going to be a VW TDI model (either a Jetta or Beetle). If you know anyone parting with one for cheap, let me know. I plan on replacing my Audi with one this summer.

Welcome…

welcome to pittspeed!!!

Welcome!

humm…

what model tdi? mk4 golf is what i’ve been looking for… mk3 jettas are nice too.

i’ll take that audi 100 off your hands.

welcome

I think I’m going to end up with a Beetle TDI. It seems that people don’t like them as much as the Jettas and Golfs, so you can find them cheaper.

I’m doing some work on the Audi for the spring. New brake pads/rotors, brake accumulator (BOMB), new plugs/wires, etc. It’s an amazing car. Just keeps going and going.

Come to think of it, I now have 2 cars with I-5 engines!

welcome to teh site. i have a love hate relationship w/ audi’s. as i work on them daily at maroneys. glad to see yours is in good shape, as most people neglect them. Amazing bombproof motors if you stay on top of it and due maintence.

Welcome!! How do you like the colorado? haven’t heard too much about them yet.

Welcome

Welcome…

The Colorado is pretty nice. It’s just your basic truck. Nothing fancy about it. My 14 year old Audi has twice the amenities as the Colorado (auto climate control, power seats, sunroof, etc.)

I was test driving trucks at the end of the year and I checked out the Tacoma and Dakota. Both weren’t really up my alley. I ended up at Seretti in Moon and I test drove an ext. cab Colorado Z85 4x4. We started talking numbers and it seemed like they were very willing to work with me. We walked through the numbers and I made him stop so that I could check out the lot for a while. I ended up finding a Z71 crew cab for the same amount as the Z85. The only thing it didn’t have was the body-colored fender flares. It has the 4.10 gears, so it goes pretty well with only 220hp. The auto locking rear differential is pretty nice. I have only needed to put it in 4WD hi a couple times this winter.

tim… shoot over to the other forums and post up!!!
