random poker side notes… played two $ 33 multi table tourneys on PP last nite, both reasonably sized…
–> in the 1st one, guy raises from 50 to 150 in early position… i re-raise all-in for 850 w/ JJ… he calls with 55 and hits quad 5’s on the flop to eliminate me. that was cute.
–> in the 2nd one, i have AA in middle position… 15/30 blinds. i raise to 100, get four callers… great… flop is 3-5-9 rainbow… one guy checks, next guy goes all in for 1000. this would put me all in, and i would pretty much never fold Aces in this spot… so i call. the others fold, and the bettor shows J-9… SUITED. of course he catches a 9 on the river.
now that’s the stuff that just doesn’t happen in person, at least not nearly as much!
