(2) 56-1 Old Stock Batteries

I purchased these about 3 months ago to use in a solar panel system. They were “Old Stock” from Autozone.

I don’t know what they fit, you’ll have to do the research for that. If you look up your application online, it should give you a group size.

They were on the solar system for about 2 months, until I found a set of Optima batteries that were a much better fit.

They are holding solid at 12.3 volts right now.

Those are little tiny Honda batteries… lol

51R’s usually go in honda’s. that’s what came in my Element. 550CCA is plenty for a 4cyl car.

i might take them

semi-ot, definitely interested in the solar system. Just out of curiosity, how do you have the system setup and how much stuff is it running?

Let me know if you want them, I have someone from craigslist interested for a different price. . . I’d rather get rid of them here for a bit less.

Just a quick <notsomuch> response to that. . . If there is more interest, maybe I’ll start another thread on the complete build.

I built a micro toy-hauler to take on my honeymoon (3 week camping trip). I took a 6x12 enclosed trailer and converted it to a self-sufficient camper/utility trailer.

The power system comprises of a 3x15watt panel array on the roof, 20 amp charger/controller (w/ 12v and usb) with a bank of 2 yellow top optima deep cycle batteries for storage.

Interior lights are 12v CFL, exterior LED floods, car stereo, 12v fridge, 12v coffee maker and 500w 110v inverter. The little acid batteries had some issues if there we went without a good sun for a day, the optimas hold up for a few days without a problem.

awesome

its kinda one of my life goals to have a little place somewhere as off the grid as possible

it will probably have to be a combination of solar, wind, and hydro power with wvo-driven generator backup, all combined via some sort of controller and stored in a deep cycle array like yours
