I’m seeing if there’s any interest in my car. I’m moving to Florida in two months and this probably won’t sell down there. I want something smaller and better on gas.
The basics:
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
4.0 I6
Clean title, inspected until December.
Just turned over 140,000 miles last night
4WD
Its a brown-gray metallic color (metallic sandstone is the color name I believe)
Tan leather
Infinity 6 Speaker stereo with amp (stock)
Sunroof
Reese aftermarket hitch
Body 8.5/10 (minor dings and scratches but paint still shines)
Interior 8.5/10 (minor signs of wear, but will clean up nice)
Mechanical 9/10 (after I fix whats needed)
Overall I would confidently say this is in better shape than most Grand Cherokees of its generation you see, inside and out.
This car has been very good to me and I’ve kept up with the maintenance. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere, and if I were staying the the area, I would keep it until it didn’t run anymore. I have a file folder full of records on this car. My step mother got it on a lease return with 30k on it and I bought it from her with 67k on it and have had it since.
The Bad:
Im mentioning these first three in case someone wants to look at it before I get to these things.
The shocks are thrashed right now, however they will be replaced this weekend.
The drivers side ball joints are shot, but they will also be replaced this weekend (passenger side was done at about 115k).
It is throwing a CEL right now, code is for a stuck PNP switch, which is getting pulled and cleaned, or replaced. guess when??
The tires are getting down there in tread, they should get you through this winter.
A carfax will show it was in a front end collision. When my step mother had it a car ran a light on sheridan, locked its brakes, and swiped the front bumper, head lights etc. It was covered by insurance completely and has no effect on the car today, just don’t want any surprises.
The drivers seat heater doesn’t work. I’m %99 percent sure it’s the switch, but i never missed the heated seat enough to replace it.
There is a rust bubble on the hood, not through the paint yet, and wouldn’t be hard fix.
It has rust on the bottom of the liftgate, but you can only really see it when the gates open.
Other notes: Since about 110k I have done both diff fluids, transfer case fluid, coolant flush and fill, pass side ball joints, thermostat, plugs, 3 outta 4 tie rod ends, air filters and a whole bunch of other maintenance on it. Has a new fan control relay, crank position sensor (both of which I’ve read are common problems on Grand Cherokees). The front brakes have maybe 15k on them and the rears were done this past fall. I’ve def taken good care of this car. Its towed a four wheeler a few times no problem, been to myrtle beach twice, absolutely kicked ass in snow and been good to me. Like I said I’m only selling because of the move.
I’m asking $5000. Open to trades of equal value or trades plus cash on your end. Trades must be a working reliable car that doesn’t need anything mechanical.
I will have pictures after a thorough cleaning and the repairs I’ve mentioned, or you can come see it just about any day after five, I’m in nt. I’m really just trying to gauge interest while getting it ready to sell.
