This truck has 125,000 miles on it, everything mechanically is in great shape. The engine runs excellent and has fresh oil. The lift pump runs strong and the turbocharger has no shaft play. The transmission shifts strongly and doesn’t skip around or slip. There is no front end clunks or anything funny. The frame is very clean. The body is in fair-good condition. Most of the bad spots are on the bed of the truck. I replaced the tailgate, front bumper and I’m in the process of removing the surface rust on the running boards of the truck. The tires are in great shape. Everything inside works great. 1 owner, clean title.
Truck was never plowed with, and never heavily towed with (probably 2000lbs max)
I bought this truck with intentions of bombing it then using it for work all summer long. The truck nearly doubles my insurance premium however. If you know anything about dodge diesels, there is plenty of potential for this motor. Get yourself a chip, a new lift pump, and an exhaust for $1000 and enjoy 400hp and 750+ ft lbs of torque.
2002 was the last of the 2nd generation body style. This is the last year for stupid cheap parts and the loud diesel sound from the cummins engine if that’s your thing.
Diesel is cheaper than gas now, the truck gets about 17-20 mpg average. The KBB on this truck is 11.9k in FAIR condition, I want $11,000 OBO.
