Does the Cummings Turbo Diesel come in anything but a Ram 2500?
Does it come in the 1500?
I hear they are like, solid as shit for 300k miles

no idea what your intent is, but have you seen these… there are tons @ crackhead prices. just one example. a whole bunch got purchased back for some defect and they’re now selling used for almost nothing. I’ve read people are getting low 20s towing an open trailer with car.
I don’t think that’s the cummings turbo diesel…
howieinbigturbodieseltruck.jpg
lol
but as far as i know it was only the 2500… im sure you could used the mani and such on the 1500 … but the 2500 is the “big boy toy”
I dont think you can get it in a 1500, yeah cummings are known for longevity.
OMG they make a fourm for it … lol they have one for anything and everything
looks like the 3500 also
no it’s a really good mercedes one…
I just cant picture an asian guy rolling around NYC in a Cummings diesel.
I can… rolling through chinatown with chickens + ducks in the back and one of those asian hat things.
It would be hell trying to drive one of these around the city.
first of all, it’s CUMMINS
2nd, I owned a 2003 ram 2500 with the cummins 5.9 diesel.
The truck, meh, dodges were never known for quality… but the motor is bullet proof.
you can get the more-wanted 6speed and it is MUCH stronger…
the 2007 and previous came with a 48re transmission, which isn’t the strongest or best out there, but with a torque converter upgrade you will have NO problem pushing 600whp…and about 1200 ft-lbs.
All I had on my truck was a SMARTY programmer, on level 9 it added 130whp and about 350 ft-lbs.
I had the MILD torque mgmt. setting on mine, you can go up to number 4 with an aftermarket TC and tranny, but it’s unsafe for driving in any condition but dry because YOU WILL SPIN OUT due to the intense amount of torque at such low rpms.
I’m serious.
There is a huge aftermarket for these trucks, and it’s pretty damn easy to get them into the 13’s. throw a few grand into them and you have a 4 ton 11 second truck.
ALSO, as for mpg, around town, empty, I got about 14 and on the highway I got about 22 at 70mph.
also, an engine overhaul is called for at 300k miles in these trucks.
it’s more than likely the entire truck will go before the engine.
Can you chip it and get like 1908237912837 TQ and 50 HP?
don’t know… I was looking because of the insane MPG while towing a car and even better without.
don’t get a truck for big HP, it’s like a boat… cool, but much better when your friend owns it.
If you buy one can you put an airhorn on it and take vids of you driving around NYC for us to enjoy?

looks like before any turbo upgrade you can get to 300whp/500wtq
I have to say.
Would love to have a diesel ram…with stacks.
ahhh, your inner redneck is showing
hah.
They are great motors. Lots of aftermarket support.
Get a Ford with a Cummins swap in it. You’ll be much happier.
You can make 800HP… instead of 80, but it will come with 1600TQ… which your truck has to be ready to handle.
It isn’t cheap… and not nearly as cheap as everyone thinks it is to have a fast truck.
