get a toureaug TDI
Fwiw: my dad is looking to sell his 2007 dodge ram cummins TD… 30K miles…pm me if you’re interested
thats the dumbest thing i have ever read
why the fuck would he want one of those toys?
Could easily blow through 10+ ball joints in that time frame. Not an exaggeration.
Don’t you mean U-joints?
no, he prolly means ball joints, dodge pickups go through them like a woman goes through tampons.
this guy in the ram runs a 10.7

And front wheel bearings but what doesn’t now a days.
the best thing about them is, toss it in 4wd at a red light, when you’re next to a mustang… brake torque it, 30psi launch and you will leave what ever is next to you in smoke (no joke)
I don’t think I would have sold mine if I could afford to have it when diesel was 5.10 a gallon, but $150 fill ups kind of sucked.
next one to call a Cummins a Cummings is getting bant.
:picard:
Howie, the stock turbos on these are too small. Upgrade, and give me your stocker.
WTF Do you want a 1/2 ton in the city for? fix the outtie.
they only come in 2500’s and 3500s
DULLIE (sp?lol) DO IT.
thats my dream winter car lol
Chevy and Ford are releasing 4.5 and 4.4L engines for 2010. Dodge is not. You’d think they could just throw a 4BT under the hood and get it over with. Expect 500+ TQ from the 4 liters.
Howie had an A4, he loves small turbos
Granted I think he did a Ko4 swap on that
If you are looking to run one on grease, the 12V in the 94-early 98 is the best Cummins for that task. It has an in-line injection pump like an old Mercedes. From what I have read, they are the longest lasting of the Dodge Cummins engines, but not the best for making insane amounts of power. My dream is to find an early 98 quad cab 4x4 with a short bed and 5 speed. 98 was the first year for the shortbed with a non standard cab.
The biggest issue I have found with the 12V is a dowel pin that falls into the timing chain case and causes bad things to happen. But it is easily prevented.
The older flat front 12Vs had an injection pump that is not as long lasting, and the 24Vs can’t handle the viscosity of grease.
That is basically what I have researched for my pipe dream endevors.
^ my work truck last year was a 97 with a 5 speed. Truck was a blast to drive considering it had too small of an exhaust and about 4000lbs of shit in the back.
at work i drive a brand new gmc sierra dualie, with the duramax. Awesome truck, with the towing mode on, it downshift when you brake. i think the gm diesels have become much better than they used to be.
You can run them on grease… you just need to prep them both properly. Pre-Heating the grease will make it flow through anything.
Not from what I have read. On a lot of direct injection diesels, the pressures are so high that the viscosity of the grease cannot be made thin enough to not cause premature wear in their injection pumps. TDIclub is full of horror stories from running SVO. No matter how much you heat SVO, it will never be as thin as petro or bio diesel. If it was more optimal, I’d already have an SVO setup in my TDI, but it’s not.
