Uncle has yet another car he’s looking to sell. 2001 Neon 4 door.(LX i believe). Auto, 126,xxx miles. Dk blue ext, gray cloth int. I just installed a low milage rebuilt transmission last week. Fresh fluids and filters(oil,coolant, PS, transaxle). New spark plugs, front brakes(pads and rotors). Previous owner said is was getting between 30-35mpgs(420a single cam 2 liter)

Body in good shape, little rust on lower lip of drivers doors. Car isn’t currently on the road, but that won’t stop me from allowing a test drive up here :tongue

Asking $3100, will entertain reasonable offers.

Yeah, surprisingly it is quite clean. Most are rotted out.

Why did it need a tranny at a buck and a quarter? I need a DD but that makes me wary…

Previous owner put the wrong type of ATX fluid in the gearbox after doing a filter change and it popped not long after. Sold car to my uncle, rest is history.

Ah. What did he use, do you know? This kind of info is stuff I can use every day. I know Chrysler call for ATF+4 so I’m assuming he used DexIII?

Actually 126k is a long life for a Chrysler tranny from what Ive seen.

If this was a '95-'99 ACR Id be interested. Im thinking of selling my shitbox and getting another Neon.

Something along those lines. ATF+4 in it now. He pulled some off shelf crap from stewarts or something and put it in. tranny didn’t last the week. IIRC one of the PS cooler lines was leaking thus the leakdown. I replaced those though.

I apparently cannot read. This car is a 2002, not a 2001. Mods change title if you can.
