2003 Subaru Legacy Outback. Car has around 60k on it. Threw P0440 with ZERO issues otherwise. I see no decrease in fuel economy (always calculate everytime I fill up and I am getting right around where I should be). No issues with fuel delivery and no fuel odor.
Really aggravating.
I’ve just ignored the CEL until recently, as it’s nearing inspection time.
Any suggestions on how I should approach this for a repair? I’m afraid to take the car to a shop and have them just randomly throwing crap at the wall until it sticks as that could get costly, VERY quickly. Tried tossing a new fuel cap on because it was cheap enough. Did not solve the issue. CEL lit up like a christmas tree after about 150 miles.
