2004 Subaru WRX Wagon 5 speed 131,000 miles $8400 OBO

This is my DD and the mileage will be going up. I drive 60 miles/day round trip to work so it does go up quickly. .

No known issues, everything works, no CELs. I drive this car like an old man. I’ve probably had it up to 5000 rpms twice in the time I’ve owned it.

As far as I can tell it is 100% original and neither the motor or drive train has been opened up or needed major repair. The clutch and timing belt were done at 91k by the previous owner.

It is stage 2 with an aftermarket catless up-pipe, turboxs downpipe mated to a stock catback. When I bought the car this setup was already on there with a different cat-back. For me catless with a stock muffler is a perfect DD setup. You get the power and reliability gains of not having cats while retaining a fairly quiet ride. It will come with the Cobb Accessport.

It’s hard to find similar cars up to compare; asking $8000. Can be reduced if parts are removed. It will come with stock WRX wheels and almost new Hakka’s. The tires/wheels shown can be negotiated.

The good:

5 speed shifts like butter in every gear.

Clutch feels good

The rear diff works (limited slip)

new pads and rotors all the way around less than 5000 miles ago

front speakers replaced with Polk

Trailer hitch w/ wiring

The timing belt is

05 STi steering wheel with cruise control adapted to be on the wheel

Pioneeer navigation in-dash

Heavy duty aluminum skid plate (I forget the brand).

Rally armor mud flaps

The entire carpet was replaced this summer, so there is no giant hole under the driver’s foot.

The bad:

There is some engine noise that I believe to be piston slap. It is most obvious on the first second of startup. It hasn’t changed in the 20k miles I’ve owned it.

The previous owner rear ended something. The hood and front bumper cover were replaced and painted. The front fenders are from a sedan which are wider than wagon fenders. One of the headlight housings are also new.

The A/C blows ice cold, however the compressor has a bearing starting to go bad. You can feel the drag on the motor when it engages.

If there are items such as the STi steering wheel, the NAV, door speakers, or skid plate that if you don’t want I am happy to reduce the price and keep them.

price edit. $8000 obo

Sold

Every subaru I have ever owned has had piston slap.

PS: How much for the puppy?

It turned out to be a bad bearing. It didn’t spin, but there was a chunk of material displaced about 3/8". I replaced it with an EJ257 short block.

I can’t get rid of diesel. I would miss the constant sound of his tail hitting everything in site.
