entertaining selling my sti as i am looking to buy a house and since i still owe money on it, it is affecting my debt to income ratio and messing with the amount i can borrow for a mortgage. its my 3rd car that i dont really ever drive so if something is going to go it will be this. I will try to be as up front about all things so there are no surprises.

first off i purchased this car in january knowing that it had a couple issues. I have only put about 700 miles on it since this time. i took care of a few issues and made a couple upgrades Im only looking to get back what i have into it and not expecting to make a profit.

The car has 135k on the body. for the miles its in really good shape. it has 4 dings on it. three by the gas filler door that i think someone punched it and left 3 small knuckle prints. its not that bad but its there. and one on the pass fender. about the size of a quarter maybe a bit smaller.

the bottom end spun a bearing at 90k a new shortblock was purchased from subaru and stock size CP pistons were installed as well as arp head studs. all maintenance done at this time as well. timing belt, water pump, tensioner, head gaskets etc.

with a bigger turbo/injectors and a new tune, it can handle 400 whp without a problem

Issues:
Biggest issue is that 3rd gear will grind once the trans is hot and you shift fast or at redline. all other gears shift up and down very smooth. I called andrewtech and talked to them about it. i changed the fluid to lightweight shockproof as they said to do, it helped but it still grinds a bit.

Leaking oil from rear main seal and dip stick tube. I just adjusted the price for these to be fixed my friends shop already quoted me on it and i can send buyer to him for the work.

It burns some oil. its honestly not any more than my 99 outback or my 01 RS. prob in the 1quart per 1k range but since i have only put on less than 1k its hard for me to accurately judge. not anything i was really worried about but wanted to mention it.

rear struts clunk. all 04’s had this issue. it rides fine but replacing the struts all around or getting coilovers would be the best solution at some point.

driver interior door handle is sticking. i need to pull the door panel off to see if it just needs to be lubed or if the spring came out of its contact point or something. it works fine just a very minor thing i want to point out.

overall its a good car that could be a great car with a few issues being fixed. Im not really trying to talk this thing up and then someone point out the issues. I took it out for a drive last night and its seriously a fun car that i will miss if it sells.

dropped the price by 750. this is pretty much exactly what i have into this car so not really much flexibility on the price from here.

Glws car sounds awesome do you have any pics of it and also how do you like the srs exhaust that’s the eBay one right?

Edit: I was viewing this on my phone and didn’t see the pics until I hit see more sorry about that, different question does the title have a lien on it?

yes the bank holds the title if thats what you are asking. i already made arrangements with them for the sale so it should be no issue at all. exhaust sounds great, its the only low budget item on the car and honestly i do not see a 800 dollar one doing all too much better.

nice car GLWS

ok so since the past few days of being really hot, the leak has gotten worse. I looked it over and its leaking from both the rear main seal and the dip stick tube.

I am including the rear main seal and the dip stick o ring. my friend who owns a shop in ben avon PA quoted 500 for the labor. ill knock off the 500 for the labor, include the parts and knock off another 500 for the hassle and extra stuff like oil change and new trans fluid.

so final price 12,500 FIRM, not a cent less or ill just keep it.
