The Carlisle All-Ford Nationals on June 3-5, 2005 was given the name “The Boss” Nationals this year. This was due to the fact that it was recorded as the largest gathering of Boss Mustangs and Cougars in history. Three significant areas of racing were represented with vehicles and noted drivers. The Trans-Am Mustangs from the Bud Moore Racing team; the Checkerboard Maverick driven by “Fast” Eddie and a recreation of the Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II driven by Cale Yarborough was on display. Also on display, the Tasca Ford Boss Mustang 429, in its first appearance on the East Coast in years. There were over 200 Boss Mustangs and Cougars in attendance from all over the US and Canada. Another spectacle of the show was the 2007 Shelby GT500 car, which was brought by SVT.
