So far in 2006:
GM has sold 3.7 million vehicles for a market sare of 24.7%
Toyota has sold 2.3 million vehicles for a market share of 15.3%
With GM selling almost 800,000 Silverado/Siera, and Ford selling 725,000 F-150 pickups, It’s easy to see why Toyota, Honda, & Nissan are going after this market. Their best selling truck is Toyota Tacoma with 162,000 sold so far this year. Dodge Ram sold more than twice that amount.
Camry is still the leading car with over 400,000 sold YTD…
Best selling domestic auto is the Impala :gotme: with sales of 263,000 for the year.
Jaguar sales fell 35%. They really could use a cross over…thing. And a new small and midsized sedan. And that I-6 that’s in the Volvos…because Jaguars should have I-6’s.
Fact: Driving enthusiasts are in the minority and always have been. Most people just care that they can get from point A to point B comfortably and safely.
Toyota could be number one volume wise by dropping the price but making more than double the profit per car ensures enough money to make some of the best cars on the planet.
My HONDA lawn mower was a P.O.S. I hear their outboard boat motors are OK. Let’s see what happens when they finally get one of their new jets in the air for every day flying.
