That looks like a Tercel.
I give Buschur credit for probably getting some good $$ for doing this but it’s not really what the DSM people are all about. for making money, for selling out…

It’s not 350whp. It’s 350 at the fly. You’re probably looking at around 290whp. You need cams to be CLOSE to 350whp and also, NO BOOST LEAK. I got tired of looking around and hearing noise. About 315 on a very humid hot day is like probably 320whp. So I guess 320whp is good enough for me. Cams is crazy!!! You get so much more top end in 4th and 5th.
so the blue car pictured was 70k?!
(price of the 9, and price of the kit???)
Looks that way. I would be expecting a hell of a lot more HP than 350 if I was paying 70K for a car.
Warranty Performance upgrades isn’t cheap. Besides, how is the Rich David Buschur and that Mitsubishi Dealership supposed to make thier money? Hahahah…
From Buschur website…
Performance
Starting with an already impressive sedan the BR350 package propels the EVO 8 into super car status. This optional performance package will not only drop your 0-60 mph times from 4.7 seconds to 3.9 seconds it will also drop your ¼ mile times from 13.4 at 104 mph to an amazing 12.6 seconds at 110 mph! You will also lose some weight, taking an additional 55 pounds from the cars already lightweight design. Impressed with the cars stock horsepower and torque levels? How about an additional 74 horsepower and 74 foot pounds of torque bringing the EVO 8 to 350 horsepower and 355 foot pounds of torque! You’ll find this is more than enough to take yourself and 4 of your friends to dinner……very quickly.
Look at the long rubber tube going to the recurculating valve.
That is just more space for “inflation” and lag.
I custom made a flange that mounts the valve directly to the pipe.
Maybe they plumbed it that way for another reason.(?)
i just can’t get over that sticker badge thing, good god
Did you happen to see the list for the second group buy on the Megan?
I agree^ even though its probally not very much at all, but you would assume that the valve would be more efficient closer to the IC pipe also making it closer to the Intake mani. Guessing its just set up that way for cosmetic/fitment reasons using tht style of valve. VWs are set up the same way?
Edit: upon further thought, maybe its set up this way, due to the fact that since the air is being recirculated and the car is expecting the recirculated air… this then would allow a very quick delivery of the recirculated air to the intake track.
f that.
ill buy a 9.
put 10k into it, and pound the shit out of these “warrantied” cars pussies.
35k is wayyyy too much for a “warranty” to come with $4000 worth of parts. You’re motor could blowz up twice…maybe three times (let alone a stupid cel light), and you still wouldnt get your 35k worth
and i wont have to look at that fugly badge everytime i get in my car.
fucking pathetic excuse for 70k dollar car, when you pay that much for a car theres a lot of things that come expected and i couldnt imagine getting in that car and feeling satisfied with the purchase, oh that and i have evo’s mitsubishi is the ford of japanese cars so in that case the warrnaty is prolly worth it
I value a warranty more than a lot right now.
I think it becomes very attractive to a buy when you can add performance and still keep a warranty.
IE. SRT-4
What?
That car is MSRP of an Evo + $3990
i agree, BUT, srt-4 is prolly more then half the price of this car
SRT4 also doesn’t make as much power stock, is 2wd vs 4, doesn’t have the same stock handling capacity, and so on and so forth.
but if im gonna spend 70k on sumn with performance capability and all the bells and whistles while still keeping my warranty, then im prolly just gonna hands down buy a porsche or sumn. It’d be nice if the price was reasonable, but 70k is like double wat a stock evo costs(not sure how much an evo costs so im assuming 35k range). I can say that im not willing to double what im gonna pay in order to get a warranty on some bolt ons
