2006 Solo Nationals

Good to hear you are coming back  . Still SM?

It seems like a shock revalve and a set of Volks are in my future… my benchmark is currently sitting in 4th place, .3 seconds out of 1st.

Looks like the “crazy Russian” is doing well, leading DSP, in one of the hottest BMWs I’ve seen. If Jon had taken pics of it like I asked him to at Devens, then I could have shown it to you… :stuck_out_tongue: (yes, I know it was raining Saturday and he didn’t come out the next day…)

The thing that amazed me the most about that thing was how much negative camber he had in the rear. Wide tires don’t impress me anymore

One Crazy Russian…

SM or XP. Probably SM again.

…And… what I look at any time I have an itch to try SM…

… and then remember I’m poor.

SM has always been a money class, IMO, although the big mix of competitive cars makes it fun to watch, and if you are somebody who really enjoys the tuning and building aspect (ie not me), it would be alot of fun. There are probably only two mod classes that you could run on a tight budget… CM and FM. Both would cost less than just about any nationally-competitive stock class car.

The joy of a huge race budget, speedshop sponsorship, and loopholes in the rules. Gotta love being able to shave 200 lbs legally by importing composite body panels. ALthough that wing is pretty silly.

But it does remind me. I need to get some fender flares. :snky:

So, some of the Friday results are up, looks like the Mazda 3 really can hang with the Minis in HS. 2nd place, 0.3 back over the two days.

Still waiting for more results, it looks like only the first heats are up.

2g takes 3rd in ESP

EVOs kickimg Bimmer ass in BSP

And that wing on the Bimmer, so not fair

2g takes 3rd in ESP, but finishes up like all DSM’s (broken ;))

I hate how every year the webmaster goes out and gets drunk at the banquet before updating the web site, leaving everybody hanging on the Friday results…

Being that the person doing the results is an autocrosser, I can’t blame them

Results have popped up on sccaforums.com.

Heather smoked HSL the 2nd day and almost made it the jump from 3rd to 1st, but just missed by a tenth.

Sam C. was about .5 sec out of the trophies coming in at 15th out of 45 in CP. But he may move up as I guess there is a protest.

I wish I could afford the tires on that car - and then I wish they would fit on my civic

looks just like andy’s car with the hoosier and tire rack stickers lol

some wings on those cars look crazy. I think this will justify if i put a benchpark wing on my car.

It is very similar, actually, or at least it was before Andy put his supercharged setup in it. Note that that particular driver took the #1 overall PAX at divisionals, and got beaten by over a full second in his class at nationals. Should give you an idea of the level of talent there.

Where the hell did that come from in STS?

hehe. Figured you’d like that. I think that car is for sale too if you want it  . There were some protests, im not sure if he won because of them or won outright. Either way, that car seems very well built. I think he only wants 19k for a 14 year old car. It does come with a selection of fully stocked spice racks
