Last weekend I went to MIR in maryland for the import vs domestic race.

This event is a ton of fun. Not just to race in, but to watch, and see everything there. One event has the fastest drag racing cars form all over, and they competitively race heads up. outlaw 10.5, x275, the pro import classes. Turbo mustangs, and turbo FWD imports head to head. Nitrous big block Chevy’s, and big turbo 4 cylinders.

And for a LS1 car basically I have to run stock unported heads. Limited to a factory intake, or a BBK or FAST. Tire a limited to 26x11.6 slicks or 275DR. Have to run mufflers, full interior with 2 seats. Stock suspension and mounts.
And no power adder. I had to add weight, to make the min weight limit for my engine size. I would rather run slicks over drag radials, but to run the smaller 26" I would need to change gears, change spool for that gear range, bearing and install kit. Change the ride height, and springs on the car. And buy a set of 26 slicks. It was easier and a LOT cheaper to just buy a set of used 275 DR from my friend (rob, 241gunz)for $100 and got them mounted on the 15x10 welds. At that time, the car had not gone faster then a 11.04 on a DR so that kinds sucked. I saw some of the all motor hondas went 10.1 at Honda day a few weeks before and some might go 9.9’s. And heard some NMRA mustangs are going to enter all motor that have gone 9.8’s.
I borrowed a trailer (thanks other rob) got weights and that shit thurs, Later handzel, and mark helped thu night, getting the 20 other little things done. (thanks) (The car was within 10 pound at MIR of what we guessed that was cool) Loaded up and on the road fir. morning to get tech in that night and not wait in line sat. (was a huge help) Nice drive, thu the hills of PA with great views, better then shitty OH. Get there and go to tech, Ive seen alot if fast domestics but never imports that really impressed me. Well I saw some, some bad ass NA FWD civics. ALot of shit I did or wanted to do on my GTP, And with a great engine (Ksires) battery right under passanger headlight,fuel cell under the other headlight, ITB, good header, weight bar low and forword Had to be 2150 race weight for a - 2.6L K

I go thu tech fine, 1st qualifier is sat morning All motor is 1st. Not sure if that was getto night?
Sat. Check the car over, set shocks, get fuel, check weight at scales. Wait to get called, go to lanes. 1st pass I let the clutch out to fast, spun the tires. Honda breaks, and go by some junk pass 11.3 (pics and vids off the GRS site http://www.grs-motorsports.net/index/index.html)

Change the shocks back, (changed them alot with some recommendation) that was the 4th pass on DR. It was bouncy on the normal setting I run but it got down the track. Checked other things, changed the 2step and check out racing or walked around or a while. 2nd qualifying. was is a few hours. Guess there was about 30 cars in all motor. Some of the hondas broke, a few went 10.3-10.1s. The mustangs are really fast and did some big wheelie
2nd round, go to start the car it cranks weird but starts, and dose not want rev’ just back fires bad? I knew it was the 2step, check it, I set it form 5800 to 600, not 6,000, thats will do it. Check a plug is fouled bad, pull them out as handzel clean them in and brake clean. Didn’t have my spare set gaped and didn’t have time to do it.Old plug go back in, go to the lanes. Honda brakes in the burnout box? got a bi run. Slip the cluch a little, launched better, didn’t blow the tire away. All shifts ok, not as fast as I like. The trans need to be freshened been 4 years racing.

3rd round will be later in the night, got the new plugs in, and watched alot of fast cars. And a few clean ups so there running behind on time. It was getting cold as hell out too. that announced there reversing the order of 3rd round so all motor would be last. Around 8pm, after talking to some of he other AM guys and We would not get called until after midnight and most of the other hondas had there trans out of the car or were fixing somthing so I didnt think I would get bumped out. And track would suck anyway there was getting dew everywhere, we left to go out. I think 10-11pm the canceled 3rd rd anyway.
Sun the place was packed, the whole town was packed with heards of ricers, and stance fags meeting up to cruise in, It was a ricers dream.
All motor gets called 1st, that jason miller dude it pairing cars up. I know I’m gona race Jake Gavio from TGR, I talked to them in the pits him and tim are really cool. Conda civic gona 10.1 @ 130 I’m fucked.
Jessica Barton gives me some MT stickers to put on, didnt want to. Put them on all crooked. Then theres a garbage can caught on fire in the lanes, it was weird I put that out.
So I’m nervous, the stands are packed. Few cars go 1st the 1st-5th qualifiers. this is it.
I spin the tires, honda goes buy. Fuck. then I miss 3rd. fuck. I lose.
