He’s good, yes, I’ve been a fan of him since he was in GP2, however the Monza rain win was pure luck due to a guess on car setup. Don’t interpret that for more than it was. (A brilliant drive, yes, but a brilliant setup as well, I’d venture there are more than a few drivers on the grid better than him in the rain).

That might have been what they intended.
But if it is somewhat correct, with the reduced aero and the return of slicks you might be able to get a lot more rear grip. By doing this you run the one side at a really high slip angle and the other side at a low angle. After looking at a lot of tire data, you sometimes can get more total grip by setting up the car to have the outside tire operate at its peak grip range with the inside tire not as optimal. The additional grip might be enough to outweigh the drag and other negative affects.
He’s the #2 driver, he does not get a (“real”) say in strat. He’s CLEARLY a #2 as well, opposed to Ferrari who will support whoever is leading.
I understand that, but are they just trying to simplify it? so they can focus on Lewis? it just seems kind of ridiculous when they are 2nd in the constructor, and they are just slowing their man down.
I could see Kovalainen taking first and not letting lewis get first place points… but they could have had a better shot at winning the constructor…
IDK. it just seems like there isn’t much of a point of even having a decent driver for the number 2 and even wasting effort with him. Hell just use him for testing every race.
The different fuel strat doesnt slow him down, it allows him to work up the field taking advantage of potential safety cars and weather conditions for consistent finishes in the points.

I like it. Let the champion be the guy who won the most races, isn’t the point of racing to win? I don’t like the thought of having a champion who never won a race but always came in 2nd or 3rd simply because they never won a race. if you want to be a champion, you have to win races. period.

I hate the medals system, the reason we’re in the points dilema we’re in right now was due to Schumie dominating the first half of the season (before his retirement obviously) and it being mathematically impossible for anyone else to win. I think there should be slightly more points for 1st place (the whole you only get 2 more thing just doesnt promote passing). HOWEVER, the past two seasons we’ve been down to the final race for the Championship and I can’t argue with that, it has been INTENSE. I was standing in front of my TV yelling this year.

Medals are retarded. Revise the points systems to be more like the MotoGP system where it heavily awards a win. This system is a leftover of the Schumi days where he was winning every damn race on the calendar, so they wanted to keep the points scores closer to keep the championship from being locked up halfway through the season.

So there is no reward for consistency? You could win 5 races, and then dnf in all the others yet still win championship and as long as no one else has more wins you beat them. Totally stupid imo, what are they using as a tie breaker?
Tie breaker is most wins. Would’ve gone to massa had their been a tie.
