The sti has much wider fenders… same scoop and rear end though.
the above pic is a 2009 wrx sedan. Teh only diff between that and the 08 is dark wheels and full aero kit and a diff grill.

the rear is not the same - at least the rear diffuser is certainly different, the rear bumper is not the same either. Over all they are very similar however there is subtle differences all over the place looks wise.
that hatch style grew on me. Not so much the sedan though.

wrx wagon is single outlet, sti is quad outlet.
but the 09’ wagons Do come with the sti wing, which looks awesome.
