2010 Callouts

hes building a cheap ass build all the powers labor power from porting ect compared to buying good stuff

Meh power is over rated…

It’s all about traction and matching your gear/convertor

Isn’t it suppose to be, “you want an adrenaline rush, it’ll be 2 large”.

wat

this

I dunno its been a while

speedped thinking he knows what I’m building.
its not what you spend, its how you spend it.
The last thing you want to do is bolt on a bunch of what he said and she said and expect results.
I’m not new to old school sbc, I raced street stocks for 7 years.

rather than buying good parts like heads hes modifying factory parts to get the most from them

However the go big or go home approach works well with LS1s since they make a lot of top end power…

Some shitty SBC that gets choked out up top will probably take more fucking around to get a good setup.

oh i see, i was under the impression you were like 20 lol

so im going to assume your putting some iron vortec heads on it? that seems to be the usual budget route

all my parts are matched to each other to a powerband i will use most 2500-6500, everythings matched to that powerband including converter and gears

idk why you guys dont build LS1’s for your cars, they are dick cheap nowadays… why try to put a square peg in a round hole

Oh dont get me wrong, If I knew anything about tuning fuel injection and had the money to swap an ls1 into something light enough to make it worth while, I deffinatly would.

They make insane power with just a cam and a tune.
The reason I play with old school small blocks is because of the sheer price, if you know how to match all your parts, you can build 400hp really cheaply.

I wont have alot of money into this car. Less than what that gold formula is selling for.

People are getting ahead of themselves here.
I said it should run mid 11’s, If it dosent I did something grossly wrong.
There are a few things holding me back, like my good tranny not being done.

“Free mods” are always great. however you can only go so far with them before you need to start dumping money into your car

cars too heavy.

If you wanted a race car you could run low 11s with a bolt(stock heads/cam) LS1 motor in a 3000lb car…

just saying…

346 CID FTMFW

Ls1 + carb setup = win

since you said you cant do fuel injection

wut???

anyways, you being :snky:??? lol

Yeah hes putting scott back in the car :snky:

Gutting your cat(s), removing the screen in your MAF, there’s a whole bunch of shit to increase power a little bit, weight reduction

anything you can hand port yourself, like an exhaust manifold or tb. there’s a whole bunch of stuff you can do with dsms to give you a little bit more power

edit: My car now has a gm maf, bigger injectors, bigger turbo and headstuds compared to when scott had it, and is probably almost 150lbs lighter…

hear that wahoo, no more lid/catback victories over the DSM’s :frowning:
