2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Right - chevy already has a 45th anniversary edition planned for the 2012 model year, and info is on their site.

right below the video that plays, are 6 small pictures, click each picture and it will show you info on that 'special edition (2012 = 45th anniversary, 2011 = indy pace car, etc)

How quickly do you think the Porsche 911 Turbo S can make its way around the Nürburgring? How about the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, or the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG? The Ferrari 430 Scuderia? Would you believe all those amazing machines have been timed at around seven minutes, forty seconds around the famous German race track.

And so has the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Driven by GM test driver Aaron Link, using a production-spec car with no performance modifications, the 580-horsepower (and 556 pound-feet of torque) ZL1 proved 40 seconds faster than the regular-grade Camaro SS, says the automaker. It’s also a bit quicker than the 7:59 recorded by GM for the Cadillac CTS-V, though not quite as blistering as the Corvette Z06 and ZR1.

I don’t think they are going to be numbered. Just a regular production. If they were only going to build 69 of them, I could se them being numbered. Chevy wants to sell the hell out of these.
Now you can get an SLP ZL1 for the price of the car plus $80k and that will be numbered. We’ll have one of those coming in for a customer soon at Paddock. 750hp

Making a convertible as well:

Good luck. Needs a diet and those half shafts are as good as broken on delivery.

Why so? The ZR1 half shafts hold up pretty well so I’d assume their probably using similar ones if not the same in this car.

I might have to get a vert, so many hottsss. Who wants to buy a built WS6?

It will be interesting to see once someone cranks the boost and throws some stickier tires on.

Man that very is nice. Was looking at picking up a older 430 or murcie as the price seems to be bottoming out nicely finally but dang that looks nice. I know 2 different cars but pros/cons for both.

I think you’re talking Gallardo, Murcie’s are still over 100k used if not 150k+.

LMR’s reaper ZR1 has been running 9.9s since 2009. Just because you don’t see it in Buffalo doesn’t mean its not happening lol. I’ve ran 3 different Zr1’s two on slicks and they’ve never had any problems. This isn’t a GTR dude. Lets see how the Mustang’s IRS does in the next couple years.

Yeah the 430’s are 125ish too. As much as I want one I just don’t think I could ever write a check for that much.whatcha thinking? 59,999?

I’d rock a Gallardo for 70k if I could swing it, my dream car is a Murcielago though

I’m placing my bet on $52-56 for the coupe and $56-60 for the convertible. Keep it under the price of a Vette and close to GT500 pricing.

I’m guessing close to CTSv pricing, this car isnt going to be cheap, it will however be awesome

In the garage today:

n0ice

We have 3 currently on order and 2 left for sale… I thought about it then I remembered my house is not finished yet :frowning: but I have my old faithful back so

The step dad was getting all giddy over this thing thinking about ordering one. We had a decent convo about the pros and cons between this, the srt8 charger and the new gt500. The srt only came into the convo as a dd while the others are collectables. I love living vicariously thru others. I live in the world of “I should sell my bike so I can get a used Subaru outback wagon, then i can fit the baby and his stroller”
