2012 Suzuki TU250x review

I know most of you bike guys are more into sport bikes, but I took the MSF Safety Course over the weekend to get my license, and I got to ride one of these.

I was very skeptical of it at first sight. I didn’t know how old it was (looks like it’s from the 70s) I didn’t really want to use it, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I learned it was the best bike there though, very quickly.

First start up, can’t find petcock to turn on the gas and couldn’t find the choke. Instructor comes over to me and says " this bike is brand new. It Doesn’t have A fuel switch or choke since it’s Fuel Injected".
So I sit there puzzled because the bike I sat on looks like it’s a 1970 but yet it’s brand new and fuel injected.
But that sucker started right up and ran beautifully for a single cylinder.

Long story short, the bike handled amazingly around the turns. Smooth throttle response obviously and the friction zone on the clutch was perfect for me at least.
This bike was a blast to ride. The look of it started growing on me towards the end of the weekend. Only thing I had trouble with was getting my boot under the shift lever. It looked bent however as if someone had dropped it once before. But it still gets 2 thumbs up from me.

Here is a more in depth review if any one is interested

Congrats on the M class and +1 for MSF!

I know a guy who owns a TU, a great base for an easy and cheap cafe racer conversion.
