What about the flo-tie, are you guys forgetting that! Imagine if manufacturers would utilize that technology, I really can’t believe you people think its the tires that are doing it.
it may not be better than a “every option 2015 Stingray” , truth be told the Camaro has more seats and the Vettes styling (as well as the Camaros) is polarizing, oh wait theres already a fast 4+ seat car known as the CTSv?? Not to mention 4 door and Wagon variants! Truth be told there is absolutely no reason for this Z28 Camaro to exist! It simply does and as a car enthusiast I am grateful for that fact! It’s a good thing in the former glory days of muscle cars (1964-1971) that people did not ask “why” ; ) We are riding a high tide of automotive brilliance, enjoy it!
Here’s a nice video showing the undercarraige with the program engineer Mark Stielow. He talks about the tires for 25 seconds.
if you put them on a prius sticking out all crazy, the prius would stop faster once.
I would like to see somebody take a base V8 camaro and see how much they have to spend to make it outperform this in every way… probably about 15k is my guess. I’d do motons, R888s, wilwoods, and a supercharger.
Well the LS7 is 15k+ alone so carry on
Go road race an LS3 with a blower stock bottom end and let me know how long it lasts…or go pull those corners numbers on the wet sump setup since that seems to work pretty well for vette people.
maybe not 24hours of le mans, but I i can see taking it to a track day with 30 min sessions or doing time attack @ 600whp or so
Yea? Go ask the Corvette forum about that
been there, done that. almost purchased the car from a track day instructor at VIR. z51/gs helps for sure with the coolers and dry sump.
half the people at corvette forums think the cars will blow up if they change brands of oil
still, I do get your larger point.
Dry Sump  I’m impressed with all they’ve done. That said. I’d still buy an M4, then again probably the Fiesta. Better MPG
Yummmmmmmm M4. Can’t wait to trade my 1 in when they get more popular and available.
The Z/28 has a lot of really nice go fast hardware that adds to the price - plus factor in lightness that they’ve added, aero testing, on track R&D, it’s a lot more than just simple tires.
Can I put a cam in a 1994 firebird, gut it, and put 315 width slicks on it? Yes. In fact I already did. Will it be faster than this car? Yes. Will it be a cohesive package with a factory warranty? No.
