You’d have to get $2718.75 private sale just to equal the $2500 trade though, since you don’t have to pay tax on $2500 worth of your new purchase by trading in.
well general rule is that there will be less room for negotiation if trades are high. pretty sure the 2500 is not a rebate like the clunkers but a discount you negotiate upfront.
exactly, so lets say you trade in for $1500 then negotiate $1000 off their price and you’ve got the same deal. So it’s not like this isn’t repeatable any day at any dealer.
