3 years later, Project '91MR2' is finally done...

Have you driven an N/A MR2? They are very torquey, have instant throttle response, and are dead on reliable…3 things that a Turbo MR2 are not…I already have a turbo car anyways.

Travisn, If you can’t see that Yoshi is just a joke, then I can’t help you…

yes… I’ve driven both - the turbo is a lot more fun, but I see your point. Personally I have a beater for motorsports and a turbo to restore / concourse / hide away and try to sell in 30 years.

was admiring this at the stoplight the other day. unbelievably clean.

I can eat anything off of any part of that car. Amazing.

Thanks guys, it came out well…the paint is so deep, I even managed to catch a bird in the reflection in the second photo…

Here’s a few more of the interior too, with Yoshi, for Travisn…

lol. fag.

such a fun little car to blast around in…i had the pleasure of driving this to Toronto…It was fun and always clean

Thanks Chris, you should see it now!

While I don’t understand WHY anyone would do this, I can appreciate the HOW. Looks good.

Although I’m surprised after all the work you put into it, you left/replaced the lame faux-CF interior trim.

looks great joe!, but why yoshi? do you have candy in the glove box just in case the stuff yoshi doesnt work?

Looks great Joe, the pics don’t begin to deo this car justice! Cleanest car I have ever seen. Can’t wait to catch up with you so I can see it in person!

Yoshi is awesome.

Car came out really good. I have to agree though that the carbon fiber stuff just throws it off.

How is any project “done” without ending up with a lsx either?

I like the CF trim, it breaks up the monotony of an otherwise stark black interior. I mean, it’s easy enough to change back to OEM…

Brian, yea man, come on over!

LOL at the Bird…

I bet if you wrapped it with microsuede it would look fucking tits.

The fake CF just looks SO SO SO cheap and ricey, and it’s really the only thing on the car that is…

You can still get that overlay service…

I like the microsuede idea too. Even just black. The cloth would really break it up. I am know thinking about possibly doing this…

I like the ideas of both the overlay and the microsuede, but these are things that will have to be done at a later date. I’ve exhausted enough resources in getting this thing done, and I’m not too worried about the CF trim at the moment. The car runs/drives and looks great, and I’m going to enjoy it for a while before I worry about doing anything that specific yet…unless one of you guys wants to pay for it…

You’re not going to worry about something super easy to replace for <100 dollars that makes the whole interior of your car look like it’s owned by a 16y/o kid with an ebay obsession?

That’s right.

If you slowly start nickle and diming everything per the <$100 mentalitly, before you know it, you’ve spent another 500-1000 bucks. I’ve spent enough on the car over the last few months in particular worry about the “important stuff,” like new stainless hardware throughout, new moldings, trim, etc. I can address the CF at ANY point in time, it is not a top priority, and 100 dollars (which wouldn’t even be enough anyways) goes a long way for me these days with my current situation…

I would do the microsuede on trade or something equal in value. Got an engine hoist I can borrow for a year? LOL.
