people down talk vizio and I dont get why.
2 reasons I love them
#1 there made by Sony and sony is awesome quality
#2 one of the only few tv brands that do split screen (Can be on the internet on the left side of screen and watching tv on the right side, or watch two tv shows at once, orrr play video games on the left of the screen and watch tv on the right! That feature is sick!)

The question for ages has been: “Does Sony Make Vizio?”
Answer: No!
Who really makes Vizio? It is AmTran Technology of Taiwan.
“Who makes their screens? Perhaps Sony or Sharp?”
Answer: Vizio LCD screens are made by LG. Plasma screens are Panasonic seconds, which are most likely older technology and/or Panasonic rejects. The Panasonic rep said they are their screens, but they are totally different grade than the ones in Panasonic TV’s.
Unfortunately, LG was not there to confirm whether their screens are really being used in Vizio displays, but many experts I spoke to confirmed this is true. It even hints towards this if you search Vizio’s website.

There was a press thing a couple years back when I worked in walmart electronics that VIZIO bought out the controlling stakes in Sony…
The info Boost Creep posted is outdated. They design their TV’s and have them built by various manufacturers (which depends on size, technology, etc). They are pretty good quality. The Sony rumor comes from the fact that the gentlemen who started the company worked for Sony.
AmTran Technology of Taiwan produces some of them, they also own a 24% stake in Vizio.
I can’t get a straight answer anywhere on the internet for that question. There’s like 100 different threads with 50 different answers. That seemed like the best I could find. Dated, maybe but there’s still factual information there internet warrior.
