335xi

i want to see joey vs billy from about 35-120 again over the weekend so the car adapts a bit more. the 335 reallly starts to pick up around 90 i honestly couldn’t believe how much differentr the car feels at 60 then at 90+.

and maybe a dig just for the hell of it haha. what do you say joe??

if it hasnt “adapted” already, theres a problem… usually upon start up the new settings are “learned” by the entire system, its not like setting readiness in a car where it requires consistancy in all systems for X amount of time

Isn’t the “adoption” for off throttle only?

i guess you can adopt a cambodian and itll make you a better person

it needs a 100-150 miles to adapt to the car. the tech said that to me and pete when we called vishnu

:lol

yeah i duno about all that. its preset parameters. 100-150miles for ELECTRONICS to configure… doesnt add up. when i got my big turbo software all i had to do was plug it in, prime the fuel system, allow the system to run up in the normal key on, pre start sequence, and start the car. and thats alot more than a simple reflash using stock hardware, stock fuel system, etc… but hey, if some desk jockey, phone guy said that, sure. if its running, and it doesnt sputter, or any of that, youre fine.

in reference to your car though, what plugs and gap are people using… id imagine the stock gap will be too much with double the boost, more fuel and alot more timing.

SWEET.

I wanna race you bafoon’s too.

Now, if this makes me sound like a moron, forgive my moronicity (srsly.), but IIRC there was an issue where the earlier ‘chipped’ 335s were actually making themselves ‘unchipped’ over time, strictly from the dme learning and trying to target it’s stock parameters or some shit, the ‘new’ (late 07+) cars have something ELSE on the DME that was yet another hurdle to overcome when trying to piggyback the stock dme…

All the tune does is change what the sensors see and than lets the ECU adapt to those values and do with them what it wants. So now the MAF and other such sensors need to re-adapt the AFRs and other values back to where they should be. Basically like a rough tune dyno tune being fine tuned on the street.

That happens on essentially all piggy backed systems, if I’m not mistaken. Though I don’t know enough to say precisely what is actually happening.

Also the DME now puts the car into limp mode if it sees the injector duty cycle reach a certain threshold, signaling that the car has something aftermarket to increase boost.

hey, he said its faster with 200 miles on it then when he had 25. when i got the tapp file it wasn’t right away fast i had to drive it for a bit and it got progresiivly faster… i drove my car for about a week not going into boost then one day i stepped into it and it felt doggy slow, then i floored it a couple more times and it felt a lot stronger…

yes, i understand, but it doesnt take 100-150 miles of driving, it should happen within the first few minutes at the most. ive had cars get flashed before and i drove off and it felt different, and the next stop light i floored it a bit when i took off and it was very much a different effect… but not 2-3 hours of engine RUN TIME later… no way

thats because your car sucks man.

Well us bafoons will be out tomorrow night. :lol

and Pete, nitrous is expensive…I’m not going to keep racing the same car over and over again.

yea… no shit. everything goes wrong with the piece of shit. i honestly don’t want it anymore.

7$ per pound adds up quick when youre spraying 5-7 pounds in a weekend.

give me yo rimz. too bad that 3076 has some chipped teef on it, i might take that too.
