In need of some help wiring a TPI… Anyone ever install a TPI into another vehicle?? Put one in a '87 JEEP wrangler, but now need it to run… I have the stock wiring harness and ECM. Is that enough to make it run or do I need a painless harness??? Know anyone that works on these…
The stock harness and comp. out of the original vehicle is probably enough to make it run, but you are going to have to map out what all the wires do and mean and all that shit. For all that pain, I’d personally just get a painless harness, just mt 2 cents.

if you got the TPI setup and the ecm/wiring that go with it, then that should be all you need. make sure you have all the sensors that go with it. is it a MAF car or speed density TPI setup?
should be just plug and play as long as all the sensors are there. your gonna need o2 sensor in the drivers side header as well, wire up the knock sensors, etc etc etc… just gotta see which goes to what which could be a pain in the ass.
a big help would be thirdgen.org… all about the TPI stuff. i seen alot of guys put TPI on other vehicles including a guy with a jeep. his is a 454 small block with a HSR intake but tpi wiring and stuff.
yeah its the black POS body, with new everything else, its a MAF TPI, i thought i got all the wires ,but not sure , i have a TA with a 305 tpi,to compare it to , but the engine is out of it, so not to much help on where they go, but most can only hook to what they are supposed to… thanks…

87 jeep wrangler, had a 4.2L carb, and 5 speed, put a 350 TPI from a 86 or 87 camaro, and a 5 speed from a fullsize truck NV4500.
the first 350 TPI was in the 87’s. well all 305-350 TPI units are the same except for the 89+ that had eliminated the 9th cold start injector, and the 90-92’s had the different plenum setup for speed density map sensor. the 305 TPI’s had 19lb injectors and 350’s had 22lb injectors.
stock ecm and wiring harness should be all you need as long as all the sensors are there
if you are close to delmont, you could come take a look at my 350 TPI camaro and take pics and stuff to possibly help you out. hell whenever i can come home next i can take tons of pics of it for ya.
also browse thirdgen.org… its a great tech site and lots of info there. i’ll see if i can dig up some wiring diagrams and such.
