i would love to squeeze out as much power as i can out of stock setup i have. Gmhightech got nearly 30hp on a full exhaust 85 L98 vette with custom tunning, and i would love to see where my car stands… i want to get it dyno’d for a baseline and tuned up to see what i can get out of it.
only places i know are mail order custom tunes and a place in hudson Ohio that i feel is abit too far away.

Not as much as you would gain from an intake or a cam…
You may be able to gain 15-20 depending where your timing is now,
If you are still running 6* advanced than you could gain alot…
If you have already advanced Which I am sure you have, than not alot…
Might gain some good power in you driving ranges, light load lower rpm.
Other than that, for wot we could bring in advance a little sooner and give you even more low end… And I am sure car is pretty rich still at wot
so it could be leaned and maybe make some more…
May also be able to try locking converter (force lockup vs mph) at different
mph… that could give a big gain depending…
You can either try disconnecting it all together which will sometimes help depending on gearing… can easily just remove plug, or easier yet just remove pin b3 I believe (would have to look at my pinout) from ecm.

Craig Moates and maybe a prom or 2… Pretty cheap stuff. Maybe $50 total.
Or for just another $100 you can burn your own as much as you want.

yeah i do believe the timing is still stock 6 degrees… as far as i know the original owner didnt do anything to the car… it was bone stock when i got it. BONE stock to filters i want to advance it to 8 or 10 to see if that helps alot.
i want to upgrade the TPI but i’d rather go HSR for a 383/406 build up someday if i dont go LS1. but with the weak heads and cam, a full TPI setup or HSR wont really benefit me for the cost
you make a good point about being rich at WOT up top. i want to see what my air fuel is like. if lean, afpr to help out the top end. i wanna get it dyno’d soon just to see what she puts down. i hope 230whp. i think 245 can be had with timing and tune. thats a strong full exhaust L98! lol a full tpi setup would be nice if its running rich up top… good power can be made if i can let more air flow in. i got a mildly ported superram base i was gonna use but still thinkin HSR.
i gotta rip the manifold off sooon anyway to replace the gaskets and seal the base manifold as i have a oil leak. so i’ll probly advance the timing then and see what happens.
only other things i would wanna do is change fan turn on temps and maybe lower torque converter lock up speed… right now it locks at about 38mph in overdrive. i’d like it abit sooner than that if possible.
i’lll look into the moates stuff and burning equip. i been wanting to get involved with that stuff

My car picked up 2/10 by advancing when stock.
If you get the adapter and a prom or 2 I will burn you one with both fans and
lower tcc lock… The proms are infinetely burnable pretty much.
And what ever else you want, I can even do the timing instead of you moving dis. But the timing is very easy to try at track…
I put the mini ram on my car when totally stock, felt alot stronger and revved to 6000 no problem. But a wrong cut water jacket filled my car with anti freeze and ruined all bearing in the 5 minute test drive… After lots of fighting with TPIS they owned up to problem and fixed manifold and credited me parts for my problems.

ahhh yes i read that thread. good to hear you got your parts/money back. good to hear it moved pretty good after the swap. i might actually go lt1 intake conversion… cuz its pretty cheap and works good… but i dont like the looks of the miniram/lt1 intake… too small. thats why i like TPI and hsr/superam better.
i’ll definately look into adjusting the timing. i dont have a light by the guy down the street of me does have one. i have an idea how to do it too, i read some threads LOL but i’ll definately hit you up next time i’m goin to the track. thats for sure! thanks for the help man. the more and more i think about the manifold swap idea, the more and more i like it! car should pick up nicely with a tune and intake setup
Ill chime in here i guess… I have an 88 vette all bolt ons…stock internal l98…all i have to say is SUPER RAM…what a wake up call… I did a super ram upper intake on an accel lower manifold and its a completely different monster now…ive gont tpis long tubes, no cat, flowmaster catback,super ram, accel lower manifold, comp camps 1.6 roller rockers, a breathless performance air pump delete, all the free mods,and an adjustable FPR…i got a tune done by Jesse Azzato from the corvette forum for those mods and dynoed 295 whp and 370 ftps car runs 12.90s in qtr at 103…all motor.
