370cc Injectors Limit

Just wondering what the limit, boost wise, is for these injectors? I dont have my AVCR installed yet so I cant watch the duty cycle.

Im pushing 10psi right now and my wideband is showing full rich and thats already leaned out 5% on the SAFC. Id rather up the boost then pull fuel out but hesitant to do so considering the puny injectors.

I have all the supporting mods:
FMIC
Walbro
Z32 MAF

When I was running 370cc injectors I often maxed them out on 10psi of boost.

This was with a T28 turbo. If you are still using a T25 you may be okay…but not by much.

ps - what wideband are you running? By your comment of running “full rich” I would suspect you just have a narrowband (unless you have a wideband sending a narrowband signal to your gauge)

on a cold night when i first hooked up my avcr i hit 99.9% duty cycle on my avcr at 10 psi

but im running 12 psi now and still hit 99.9% sometimes

usually it hovers around 96 97% at 12 psi and taps 99.9 for a fraction of a second

but at 99.9% duty the avcr isnt as accurate as say a EMS or a Power FC but it still gives you a good idea

i talked to sasha and people on FA about this and the consensus is that its ok the max out side feed injectors as long as your not over pushing them

if you tap 100% duty from like 4000-5000 its ok as long as your not trying to run like 18 psi on 370s

What about maxing out topfeed injectors?
370cc
Pushing 12psi on a t28, I dont have anything to tell me injector duty, but SAFC tells me im not knocking at all at high revs.

I have an AEM Wideband Gauge and by full rich I mean greater than 11:1 as that is where the gauge begins to read. I know kinda dumb but thats how its designed.

Also, its a T28 turbo. I am used to running injectors at near 100%, hell I used to do it all the time in the talon but those were 450s and they could see 17psi max. For now Ill stick to 10psi and pull some fuel out and see what happens.

Thanks guys.

how does 13-14psi daily driven sound on a T25 with stock 370’s and walbro pump? safe or unsafe?

With 43psi fuel pressure they max out (100% Duty) at 260whp / 300hp.

You cannont measure what they max out at x boost levels.

You can if you have peak/hold on Boost and IDC

IDC?

Injector duty cycle :slap:

Either that or “In da club” :dunno:

^^^ I still don’t get it?

I can what if I have peak/hold?

Peak and hold are a type of Injector.

no it holds ur peak boost on a boost controlelr and holds ur peak injector duty so for your specific aplication you cans ee how much boost = 100% duty

ya exacally

however im running 13.5-14 psi on the t25 now and every time i drive i max them out

BTW

i just found out the other day that the AVC-R goes to 100% duty cycle which i just found out so i would assume if it hits 100% that is the super dangerous stage, before i assumed 99.9% = 100%

i hit it once when the engine was cold quickly hitting boost by accident and have never hit it since

ususally all i hit is 99%

happy do have you ever hit 100% on your avcr?

I was always told the rule of thumb is that the injector is good for it’s cc / 5.

so 370cc/5 is good for ~72hp, x4 = ~288hp

thats a really broad generalization, you always need to add fuel for a turbo car

I did once – but on my powerfc – not avc-r

anything over 85% of pintle type injectors is considered to be ’ static’ meaing you’ve lost control of then pusle width funcionality of the inj. and they are considered by GOOD tuners to be full open at that time.

as you increase duty cycle you increase the required energy per/sec to run them and you end up over heating the inj. as well shortens life and can cause them to lock up.

for example if you want 250hp with a BSFC of .60 ( avg. of turbo piston eng. ) and a max duty cycle of .65 ( apporx. OEM ) then you will need an inj. that’s 54lbs or 580cc same setup taken to 85% duty cycle and it’s down to 440cc … the max hp you can use with a set of 370’s with the given 85% duty cycle is 215hp.

This is at 50psi at the rail numbers fall off as you increase fuel pressure. but you need a piggyback or standalone to get that functionality.
