3s-gte. . .

will be finally going back into the all-trac here in the next few weeks…im so xcited :embarassd

is there anyone else here that rocks the 3s?

I thought about putting one in my Starlet but opted to stick with the 4AGE just because I have three sitting on the floor of my garage.

:bsflag: :bluez28:

So the race is on, will I finish my brakes or will you finish your engine first. Since I have to use your garage I guess you will win.

sorry but, :owned:

I’ll put the motor together at the shop, but it’ll be installed at my house… :eek4:

4age is still the hawtness

How many all-trac’s were made? I’ve only ever seen 1 out here.

Not yet…

i’ve personally seen at least 2 :naughty:

If i had to take a wild guess, i’d say there are between 15-20 st165’s (1988-1989) on the east coast left. The production was random, but were counted. I have #2597 which is fairly early.

there was an all trac at carlisle 2 years ago… thats the only one i ever saw.

it sux they are getting rare and yet the price does not reflect.

I wish i rocked a 3s, but I love my 4age 20valve. I just wish i had boost and more torque. Did you make any changes to the 3s gearhead?

mmm… i always kicked around the idea of a 20v in the Prizm…

There were 2 AllTracs at the Beaver earlier this year. They were father and son cars and they mentioned that they owned another one as a parts car.

Pretty cool cars.

ya, those are st185’s. 90-93. They arn’t quite as rare, but still cool. I know Austin breifly when he tryed to buy my alltrac and i had to turn him down. The white one is a guru i rarely talk to, but knows his beans.

IMO, its all about the st165. Anyone can go find an st185 and be done.

I still have the stock rods and pistions in my motor. ARP studded everything I could (mains, rods, head, flywheel). Probably will do a good HG and thats it. I just want to get it running again.

I’ve heard of BIG numbers on stock guts. Very comparible to sr20’s. The rods are massive.

o ya, i ported out all the TVIS too:

some in the process action

Yeah stock internals will last a while. I know people have run large amount of boost. If you do the regular maintenance and monitor things well then you could push more.

not worth it in my opinion unless you really love your prizm. A lot of time and agravation involved in the swap.

To be a little less vauge, I’ve started saving up for a '91ish MR2 turbo. I believe you can register a '91 as a classic now that the MR-S is out of production (and ven if i can’t), it’ll be a million times cooler/faster than the neon and cheaper to keep on the road.

I still have a soft spot for the looks of the ST185s though.

Even with an AE101 halfcut?

putting the 20v 4AGE where the 4AFE was? what’s the hassle? wiring?

I’d rather have the st185? Then again I might buy this beater corolla sr5 and drop in a 4agze or 4age bluetop.
