Great seller and a solid deal. Know what casting the heads are?
Thanks Josh, 862 heads.
If I keep the motor, my hope would be to find a clean southern 2wd 4.8 Silverado with the NV3500 manual, and tune it up
I have a clean Sierra 2wd/manual with the 4.3 lol.
I have a clean southern silverado 2 wd/4.8 with the auto… Lol
X…
The 4.3l manual will bolt right up. Put a zo6 cam, some springs and have a cheap fun driver!
The intake and MSD controller to convert a LSx to carb is like $600,seeing that you went with a gen 1 sbc. lol
Yeah I know, but I’m a married with kids single incomer homeowner. But I have a plan to attend the Grassroots Motorsports $2015 challenge 1 year from today. I bought the LSx hours before I found the car i ended up buying, a 1982 Trans Am with 305 and 4 speed T10. The 350 build will be 1/2 the cost of the LM7 efi or carb. I might get around to doing a build thread this winter.
Hmm. I might seriously be interested in this. Do you happen to have any kind of test stand or maybe we can rig one up so I can hear it run? Have VIN? By partial harness, you mean chopped? Can you shoot me part/broadcast/casting #s from the block, heads, and ecm?
Btw I live in NC I’m sure I can help you track down a southern truck
Interested in trading a complete SBC for it?
Stmotorsports: heads are 862 castings, I do not have a way to run the engine. The harness is cut, not sure if its enough to rewire it to a stand alone or not. I didnt cut it. I appreciate the offer on helping find a truck, but that would be a project after the Trans Am, so that’s why this engine is for sale, because I can’t do 2 projects at once, plus I have a great truck.
Thanks for the offer Minglor, but I already have a freshened 4-bolt short block, Vortec heads, Crane cam, performer Vortec intake and Holley 4150 750cfm carb.
Guys this is already a killer deal, its a complete engine, you can part it out for more. Heck there is $150+ in covers alone.
Thanks Josh, Price dropped to $400. I have parts to buy for my Trans Am
