the gnx should be in the top 20 for 13.55 @104 mph stock

wow, that sucks.

Edit: I mean that all those cars are so slow.

muscle cars stooopid

60’s 70’s

 :embarass:

name all the japanese cars of that era that were faster

mike i hope your joking. do you realize that they did htose times on bias ply tires that werent no wider then 235 or so. give any of those cars some stickies and a decent driver and youll see a large difference. also those exhausts were very restictive. i think most of those cars had 2.25

if it doesnt have 4cyl’s and a turbo, it aint fast

who said anything about Japaneese cars? Most of those cars would have got their asses handed to them by a stock LS1. I dont consider a stock LS1 to be all that fast, do you?

:dunno:

And yeah the bias ply tires did suck, but the trap speeds arent all that impressive either. Only a handful of the cars on that list top 110MPH.

And that was in an era of no emissions, leaded gas, and 400+ cubic inches.

those are cars from the 60’s and 70’s not car in present day time

I dont know how versed you are on muscle cars, but insurance is what made the manufactuers detune a lot of cars.

It was not uncommon to see people knocking off a few seconds by just rejetting/changing carbs, putting on headers, and going to stickier tires.

This is without touching the motor really. A lot of the Hemi cudas were dipping into the 10s, with just a few simple changes

:dunno:

well, lets put it this way… those cars would pick up much faster trap speeds with those simple mods

not all that hard to get a LS1 to pick up ~15mph either… :dunno:

yes and no.

I mean, an LS1 isnt gonna see 15mph increase with just headers/exhaust
a lot of those muscle cars were really choked down by the factory

mine only has a top end of 110mph !!!

also they were prolly all auto’s and had more low end torque than a friggin freight train

what does trap speed have to do with et???WAY TO MANY DIFFERANT THINGS CHANGE TRAP SPEED!!!1

while we’re at it, let’s name the cars from this era (american version) compared to today’s american cars.

Cobra
LS1
Z06
Viper

Vs.

Supra
3000GT
WRX
EVO

Suspention technology is another thing holding them back compared to today’s cars. You can’t compare an old muscle car to today’s muscle car(well you can, but it’s a waste of time  ).

My dad said his 61 impala with a 409 crossed the finish line still spinning the tires, i’m guessing that would hurt the trap speed.
