When I worked at West Herr in '03 they took in a 2000 Focus on trade- 40K and it had the original oil! There was also rust all over the trunklid because it had never been washed. The whole interior was filthy- hand grime caked all over everything. And the owner worked at the Ford plant. We were able to drive it down the road, barely, to the auction lot where it sputtered and died in a huge cloud of smoke in the middle of the driveway.
But a BMW- WHY??!!

I have over 20,000 miles on the oil in my truck right now, but the filter gets changed every 5,000…AND I use an oil analysis so I know my engine won’t end up looking like that one. Eeek.

I remember something just like this when I worked at Northtown Toyota back in '99. A doctor bought a brand new Toyota Camry and ran 35k miles with it on the stock oil. The engine seized and they ended up giving him a new engine under warranty!
I asked “so, if I want a new engine I should buy a new car and save money by not getting an oil change and waiting for it to explode? That way I can get it replaced under warranty…”
I see stuff like this all the time. Some people just dont care until the motor stops.
