So I was at the local dealer getting parts and noticed the entire service staff standing under a BRAND NEW burnt orange Vett…
being sarcastic asked how many techs it took to look at a car…
To find out that an extemely wealthy man bought this Vette right off the line w/ pretty sure the only miles on it was from on an off the truck into the lot…
He decided to take it to Jiffy Lube to have fluid changed…
Well, long story short they changed the wrong fiter/ fluid and ended up fucking the car up…
The techs not realizing what had happened at JL…turned the key and
BAM!!!
There goes the engine! With only 150mi on it.
needless to say $15k motor replacement…and the owner no longer wants the car.
i knew people that used to work at oil change places like that and after hearing all the horror stories that they did and whatnot i will never take any of my cars to get oil changed, Ever!
I was under the impression from when I was at Don Allen that the first oil change was on GM, at 7500 miles… something about flushing out an additive they used? maybe i’m remembering wrong, but still unless it had been sitting for a year, or some long amount of time why change it with only 150 mi?
that I dont know…but considering it was under warranty…GM paid for the damage.
[QUOTE=t/adreams;637212]Maybe he realized that he couldn’t afford the car and wanted to have a reason to return it/some company to buy it?

I dont know. Whatever the reason, its his fault.
I went by the shop today to pick up the parts I ordered and there was the vette still on the lift with wires and shit hanging down and the brandy new engine just chilling there on stand. lol They were given 30hrs labor.
most new ls1 motors have a zinc addative in the oil not sure whatfor but when steve (ultra Z) built his 408 he had to but like 12 a bottle quart oil that had a zinc addative for the break in period
