Jiffy Lube in Sewickley, PA

Jiffy Lube in Sewickley, PA, early this afternoon changed the oil on my 05 Aerio. Then closed the hood on my prop rod. The rod was bent in half, and knocked out of its mount.

I watched this happen, and the employee trying to bend it back into shape. The same employee rang me out, never mentioning it. I finally asked, “how bad did you get my prop rod?”

He replied, “not too bad.”

I opened up the hood, and imagine my surprise to find my rod all bent up and missing paint.

There was no damage done to the hood or fender, fortunately.

Needless to say, they are paying for the damage. That’s not the point. If you screw up my car, tell me. It was an accident, right? And when I have to ask about it, don’t lie about it. That’s what pi55es me off.

They will not be servicing my car again.

I may be the only one here who’s ever gone there, but I wanted to vent.

Great story :cookie:

this is why you never go there…

I have always changed my own oil, I don’t trust people. This is a good case in point.

off-topic

but what do you guys with the old oil, ive thought about changing my own but never knew what to do with old oil

some places like advanced auto will take you used oil.

A local gas station takes my oil for me. I put it in gallon jugs and drive there, and the oil filter I just throw away.

x2
they take up to 5 gallons at a time

sweet i think im gonna change my own oil next time

change your own oil.

ill take all ur old oil. i use it for heat. just make sure it is oil, and no coolant in it b/c it will f up the furnace

I’ve always changed my own

dump it in the sewer

Why not change your own oil? I changed mine today. And no, Dom didn’t do it for me. We usually just pour the old oil into the empty quarts and then take it somewhere like advanced.

make dom give the old oil to me.

i didn’t know you were on here too…welcome

anyway…change your own…its simple on the aerio.
i can help you out if you need.

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

why are you changing your oil if it still works? If the engine still turns over, it doesn’t need an oil change.

:bigok:

X2 but they started to check it now, I guess to make sure other stuff isn’t mixed in IE coolant and other stuff.

I don’t check it at our store, neither does anyone else here honestly
