Love those cars. 70-ish 442’s always have appealed to me.

Sweet car. I’ve always loved them.

When I was growing up, there was a guy who lived down the street from my parents that was a 2nd owner on a 1970 W30 442 hardtop (Black with Gold stripes). He bought it in 1971 & it was a NHRA record holder before he bought it. It has original paint, and he has all of the original stock parts to make it as deliverd from the factory. He left it in as-raced condition all of these years (Cragar SS’s with M/T street tires, ladder bar rear suspension, 4.33 gears, built Muncie 4spd, headers/glass packs, finned aluminum everything under the hood, etc, etc). He moved away about 3 years ago, but I run into him every once in a while. I asked him last summer how many miles it has on it - 12k. He keeps it in a climate controlled garage & takes it out once or twice a year to get it inspected or a show or two. It is still one of the sweetest sounding cars I have ever heard. Someday, I’ll get him to take me for a ride in it :x:
