84 Jetta: turbo racecar

so I don’t really need to unload this. It’s more fun to drive than watching a group of monkeys fuck a squirrel sans lube.

Anyways, found exactly what I want- black 4-door 1.8t mk4 golf.
So, if anybody is or knows somebody that might want this thing, lemme know.

$3500. Seems a shame since most of you knew what I started with to get this , but value is value.

10.1 brakes up front with rear discs this car runs and drives great could use a little more tuning but whomps on cars none the less, was built as a learning vehicle for road corses but do to lack of funds has to be postponed. the cage was TIG welded and built off of the SCCA GCR for IT specs but the motor in the car disqualifies it from competeing. i did all of the work on this car my self but i dont have many reciepts however you can verify everyhting on the car. the car is street legal minus wipers and turn signals, it has headlights and brake lights.
the car needs an exhaust to be built for it and either Lexan or stock glass put back in.

There it is in a nutshell. Pass the word along. Or trade me something fun. What-ev. Otherwise it’s going away for the winter to get messed with a little.

.

You can respond on this thread, through IM, or via carrier pidgeon.

This can be more or less road legal in a few hours of work. I have a black mk1 dash for this out of the vehicle. Current trunk is fiberglass (not pretty, but insanely light and does the job. held in with hood pins.) I have the factory metal trunk as well.

That thing is fuckin SICKKKK!!!

GLWS man!

Thanks man. Just a little bit of tuning, and whoever buys this won’t be able to stop grinning when behind the wheel. Turns on a dime, rips pretty fast. It definitely is what it is. A racecar.

Bump for a siick car !

I wanna put plates on it… :lol

Glws

WOuld be diirtyy

Very doable. Like I said, just a few hours and it can be road legal. If I keep it, it will be registered and inspected, and on the road next season.

+1 this thing is so sick

Thanks for the kind words guys.

For those interested, yes that’s the air to water intercooler in the firewall. Pump and plumbing for the intercooler are located in the passenger footwell area, and are easily accessed.

Car currently has a passenger seat with second multi-point harness.

Entertaining vw/audi/bmw/porsche trades, as well as motorcycles.

What kind of #'s did it make?

Not a drag car, built for road racing. Although with some tuning, I’m sure it would probably pull decent times. Very light and nimble, spools fast. Running on msII ver.3 I have a jump drive with the most recent specs on it. If it’s not sold before too long, I’ll take the time this winter to get it dialed in and running perfect for next year.

By #'s I meant whp and such, not drag times lol.

the churbo gives me a chubber

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. No clue, honestly. I wish I could take credit for this one, because they car has been put together pretty well, but unfortunately I didn’t build it. Received it in trade for a porsche I had.

There’s a lot of room left for more power. Boost is turned down at the moment, and as I mentioned before, needs some more tuning. Although I did take it for a quick rip one night recently when it was much colder outside, and well… :clap It was fun.

you say things about making it road legal…what would need to be done to make it so?

sweet deal trav, sucks its going already. brings back Mk1 memories.

probably close to 200hp in a 1700-1800ish lb car

Motor is very nice and clean, whoever built this did a pretty good job from what I can see

car would just need a muffler and some windows really to make it road legal.

actually…all you need is windshield and rear window to pass inspection…

i fucking want this sooooooooooo bad.
