85 300 zx callaway Edition

Does it exist. Was there a callaway edition of the 300 zx.Im going to calagary to pick up this car that is supposed to have like 400 hp built by this callaway guy.Whats the scoop.

I dunno, sounds fishy. I was sunder the impression Callaway does Corvettes, not imports.

He says he e-mailed the company and got a return that mr callaway had this contract when he first started his company.Looked it up and found a little bit of lyerature on this subject.Sounds like it may be a very rare but actual car

Cool, sounds like it may be an interesting find. Keep us posted.

I would be leery of this “callaway edition” did a google search, wiki search and nothing comes up except a SHiro Edition that was brought in for the Z31s. If this is the car you are buying from Kiijiijii for 1 grand, who cares what the “edition” is, I woul dbe more worried about it running and having no major issues

Dont know a whole lot about these z31.However I did pick up the car.It needs a little tlc but only has 120 000km and I think it will make a good project.Car is straight.Runs but I think there is a leak in the manifold and I cant get any boost pressure.

Oh and I spoke with mr Callaway and he says he remebers the car.It was one of the first he had done when he started his buisness and that it hit the dyno at over 400hp back when it was built.

LOL You actually got Reeves Callaway on the phone?

Yes I did speak with him.He was very shocked that this car still existed and that it was in Canada.I called the number on the sticker under the hood.It went to an answering machine.Left a massage about the car and recieved a call back.Kind of interesting to speek to him and find out a little history on him and the car.He built a handfull of 300zx and toyota supra’s in his garage when he first started Callaway turbo systems.I have asked him to write a letter on this history to go with the car.We will see if he follows though.

Car runs.Blows a little smoke.Has a manifold leak.Needs paint and a little care on the interior. However the car is straight, Alberta registered, and looks to be good for my next project. Could use some suggestions on the easiest way to replace manifold. Thanks.

got any pics man??

It has a bigger turbo havnt gotten the size yet.Bigger injectors.Front mount intercooler.Stand alone fuel managment. All HKS.As soon as I figure out how to post pics I will.
