86 s12 turbo

ok so this probably isnt going to help me much but i guess clubs12 is shut down for a while, and i figured i mine as well put this up here for more opinions.

basically what im looking to do is put an r32 non-hicas rear end into an 86 s12.
any opinions besides dont do it???
i know i need to fab custom strut towers, so i know what im getting into.
right now ive started stripping the interior down for whatever little stuff and cleaning i want to do so it gives me time to look for parts and save some money for the job.

what are your ideas guys?

S13/14 rear subframe would be better, more support behind the swap and its slightly easier… I looked into it for my s12 but ended up selling the subframe instead. whats the reason behind you wanting a different rear subframe? are you planing on running full multi link and wanting to just beable to go lower with coilovers ?

id like easier but i heard that r32 was stronger and practically identical (bolt up) to s13 rear sub.

and u see well i despise trailing arms with a passion, id rather have an sra rear but thats just stupid lol.
also yes im wanting to go full multilink, not so much to lower my car which i still will about 2.5inchs, but multi-link is just so much better than trailing arms.
im also looking into an rb26 swap so i need something much stronger

you should be on z31performance.com for this stuff… the s12 shares a lot with the z31, and they are quite frequently doing this type of subframe swap, including the coilovers

Finding a r32 non hicas subframe is as hard as finding a whore who is still a virgin. It rarely happens but when it does you pay top dollar.

^ LMFAO !

the thing the z31 is that my car already handles like a z31, (trailing arms) thats the main purpose of this thread, is to get rid of the shitty handling, and convert to full multi-link, i think s13 would be suitable

the z31 guys have done every combination of z32/q45/s13/s14 rear end swaps on that site, including making hybrid half shafts … go look at some of the builds
