Let it and buy it cheaper!
I purchased a house because of the 8K now rather then in a year. I don’t know how this really stimulates anything via my situation because I would be buying something anyways.

I would much rather get it now then have to deal with it after the foreclosure. Once they turn off the water and electric the pipes freeze basement floods, mold etc. There was one house that neighborhood that was foreclosed and it still sold for over $120k a few months ago and it was a mess.
That stinks.
No closing costs for me - I am receiving a check when I close - I had many credits from the bank.
Worst part is I already own a percentage of the house and it’s been in my family since the 50’s. If there were title problems I think I’d know :bloated:
Did you put 0 down or something?
My closing costs not counting Down payment are near $10k
I love the bureaucracy in buying a house. It is total bullshit. People should band together and sell their houses on a open free market something like craiglist, but for homes and not so crappy.
Rather then have some agent take you around, you should be able to call the owner, and come check out the house at your leisure. I know my agent made 10K+ for me buying my house and all she did was show me and my wife ~10 homes and have us fill out some paper work.
The sellers agent also made 10K+ on the home, so that brings the total amount of bullshit charges to well over 25K for the sale of one house.
I’m not paying any closing fees, as the seller is, but I’m still putting down a good amount.
Yeah, I love how you have to document every dollar you spend on a $50k house to make sure you’re not laundering the money but you can buy $1 million worth of cars or stock or bonds with nonsequential unmarked bills in a briefcase.
Honestly, I had to provide my bank records for 3 months on where I got my money for the down payment on my house. Are you kidding me?! It wasn’t even that much money (relatively considering).
I have paid more in cash for my cars then I did for my house and was never questioned. Its a JOKE.
They questioned where a $4K deposit came from. Really
I told them I sold a set of wheels from my corvette.
I put 3% down
I was part of the M&T First Time Homebuyers club that I deposited 180.00 each month for 10 months in this account. M&T then gives me 7500 on top of that to use.
So in the end, I put down a total of 5% and will be getting a check when I leave the closing. It was a total surprise to me.
Now, I will expedite the Obama fund so I can get that money soon.
This is why I purchased a double as a single owner because I can live there for 7 - 8 years and then use it as an Income Property when I buy my next house. I don’t believe in paying rent because I am losing money. I don’t mind being the home owner/land lord doing all the necessities. I am glad these programs were around when I decided to purchase a house.
I made $5000 too much to use First Home Club
get married to some girl like dawn and your combined will be well under the limit… totally worth it for the $8k?
Nah, if anything I’d purchase a hot non-english-speaking wife from overseas for $7500 and then it’d be like I got her for free.
Obama will pay you to marry a Russian bride, LOL
In Soviet Russia, getting married pays you!
seriously just roffled my waffles
Looks promising
friend of mine said he heard they are extending the 8k and also if an existing home owner wants to jump into something more expensive they get $6500
You have to have lived in the previous house for at least 5 years.
I’m at 4 years and have been looking into buying a bigger house, but won’t be able to get the credit :tif:
It still isn’t approved, but it’s getting closer. I have been following the groups page on twitter for updates >.<
